Flyby rescues

Does anyone else do "flyby rescues" where the castaway has to EVA and jetpack to match velocity with the closely, and rapidly, passing rescue craft rather than the rescue craft rendezvousing with the derelict?

I know it seems cruel and mean, especially when running TACLS and the message says they are out of oxygen (so presumably are holding their breath as they chase after the rescue craft trying to match the 70+m/s differential), but when they turn out to be a pilot instead of an engineer it feels completely justifed, lol

I typically only do this technique when low on fuel, but sometimes just because it adds a bit of adrenaline to a boring stretch of game

Did it on Gilly once, had an base there and the ship was around Eve so I just sent out an kerbal to overfly him and had him fly back to base

Very! I bet you accelerate the ship again just as he goes to grab the door as well

I've thought about  it.  But, I've always put it in the realm of action movies, and chrome steel and coconuts.

done it a few times when i missed the manuever and had to do it. but if i set up a rendez-vous, then slowing the ship to match speed is easy enough.
