Mechjeb help

Hello so i recently installed mechjeb to help me rendezvou and dock with a spacecraft 

so i found a tutorial how to do that here -->

 

but its outdated so ultimatly it failed 

well mechjeb did get me to orbit and started doing the hohman manuever but it didnt finish it after like 20mins when it was supposed to start burning it just went 

from 3,2,1 to +1,+2,+3   . even after some time when i did nothing i wanted to restart the launch and orbit it autopilot stoped and crashed my spacecraft

i dont know what to do i keep geting sent youtube tutorials on steam but i have no idea what im doing

so im using mechjeb to help me understand because in tutorials i have no idea what im doing 

argh im just so confused i almost uninstalled ksp today if anybody could fully explaine to me how to use it  i would super apreciate it

Wait.. youre trying to use a Hohmann transfer for rendevous? You should be using rendezvous planner to rendezvous with a craft, *once you are in orbit around the same body as the other craft.*. Hohman is only for between planetary bodies.

To rendezvous with a craft around a different body, you have to:

1) launch
2) either get in orbit around the body you are launching from, or launch direct to the planet (I never do that) (skip step 3 if you do this)
3) once in orbit, do a Hohman transfer to get in orbit around the body, that the craft you want to rendezvous with, is in orbit around
4) once you are in orbit around the same body the other craft is in orbit around,  now you use the rendevous planner... that can get you to within 100m of the other craft, then you
5) use the automatic docking tool of MechJeb
6) Profit...you should now be docked with the other craft

Have you tried the tutorial for rendezvousing? It uses a slightly different method, far less efficient but easier to grasp IMO.

Once you move onto MJ I would also advise learning what it’s doing and why it’s doing it as it will help you understand the overall process. Eventually you will be able to copy it’s technique. But as @Stone Blue says you need to select rendezvous planner in the mechjeb menu not the one in the manoeuvre planner.
