Why do I not have probe control?

Recommended Posts

I don't understand why i don't have probe control. I have electricity. I have an antenna (that tiny 1st relay thingy) I have put a whole bunch of relays around Kerbin and Mun. But as soon as I get beyond Mun orbit I stop having probe control. Its so weird. I just placed a relay into orbit, just beyond Mun where I still had control. Then I burned prograde to raise orbit to drop of another relay a bit further but I immediately lose control Even though I am right next to the relay I just placed there and that has connection.

and which antennas are you using? the first relay antennas are very underpowered and don't have much range.  refer to the wiki article here: https://wiki.kerbalspaceprogram.com/wiki/CommNet

under "range calculation" you'll see that two HG-5 antennas can only communicate in a range of 5000 km, which may not be enough for your purposes.

also (trying to cover all the possibilities here), make sure the antennas are deployed

Hi @Kevin Kerbman, welcome to the Forums.

A screenshot of the craft and another one of the map-view would probably help a lot.

In game <F1> will generate a screenshot, that will be placed in the ".../Kerbal Space Program/Screenshots/" directory. And here is a guide how to get a screenshot into the forums: https://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/index.php?/topic/173756-quick-guide-to-posting-pictures-on-the-forum/
