Hyperspace Industries
In a old show and tell for ksp2 I spotted something odd, at 1:02 the kerbals dance in front of something that looks like duna, but in the background, instead of empty space there is what appears to be rings, which indicates this is a moon of a ringed planet. Well, Ovin is not red, and the rings are not around this Duna lookalike, it may very well be that they used Duna’s model as a stand-in for a prototype moon, or they just made this as a backdrop? Ovin does appear earlier in the video, but around the 1:02 / 1:03 mark there is duna, with it’s polar ice caps Edited July 22, 2021 by Hyperspace Industries Specified what I meant. K^2
It's entirely possible that they just really wanted the background with rings, but the planet that was supposed to go in there wasn't anywhere near ready enough for a close-up shot, so they dropped in Duna instead. So this very well might be a Duna/Ovin hybrid or something like it. The terrain does look very Duna, though, so I doubt this is actually something new either way. mcwaffles2003
The rings go far above the planet suggesting the rings are not orbiting the planet. This leaves that the planet is in orbit near the rings.
