Manfred Kerman was confused as nobody knew he was alive as he was presumed dead since 1982.

Even more confusing is that he has committed no betrayal or disregard for public safety.

The staff at the CCC-DA catch's him up on what has happened and ends up firing them all.

He decides to stay in the Bunker but takes his time as only 4 people still alive knows the location.

And all of them refuse to share the location.

Its also nowhere near the CCC-DA Headquarters.

Wait, then who was the Director who ordered the CCC-DA to kill Jeb?

CCC-DC - SUPPORT ROBOT "TICK" - RELAYING STATUS MESSAGE - CAPTAIN DAVID O'HARVIS KERMAN - TASK FORCE ECHO:

Manfred Kerman decides to Figure out how to flee after picking up a unknown transmission that shows an Unknown group heading towards his location.

Assuming the worst he realizes there is almost no materials except cooking oil and some French fries that have been rotting for who knows how long.

After spending half an hour figuring out what to do he starts to hear rain outside. This reminds him about a government project to fly with using only cooking oil and water as fuel for a jetpack.

Manfred however misremembered the instructions and spilled cooking oil all over himself.

After he gave up and went outside to try to run he noticed something strange.

Manfred then Yelled at the top of his lungs while his feet where lifted off of the ground "OIL FLOATS ON WATER!"

Sadly Manfred went into an uncontrollable spin while midair and ended up in a unknown grassland.

While Jeb and DONN try to detain MJ-0, suddenly, MJ-0 transfers his robotic soul (I guess his code?) into the nearby Ranger-1! He takes control of the autopilot, and attempts to depressurize the cabin, but Val, Bill, and Bob bail out. GALE notices all the trouble and flies down in Ranger-2 to pick up the five crew members.

They rush into orbit and find MJ-0 trying to dock to the Delta-19. However, DONN had taken precautions when he and Jeb left the Ranger and disabled the auto-dock sequence. MJ-0 attempted to dock manually.

"MJ-0, do not attempt docking," Val radioed to MJ-0. "Do not attempt-"

"Valentina?" MJ-0 said. "I don't know what Jebediah told you, but I am taking command of Delta-19, and then we'll talk about the fate of you and your friends. This is not about my life or Jebediah's life. This is about all MechJeb-kind! There is a moment-"

Silence. An explosion, silenced by the vacuum of space. Ranger-1 had rammed into the Portside docking port and caused a depressurization. The Ranger crashed into a solar array and into the centrifuge habitat, which immediately depressurized. MJ-0 was now, for sure, dead.

The atmosphere blasting out of the centrifuge forced the Delta-19 into a spin on its X-axis. It was also powerful enough to knock it out of its orbit. As Jeb observed the spinning Delta-19, blowing debris all over the place, epic organ/piano music starts playing. Jeb knows what to do.

Spoiler

"Jeb, what are you doing?" Val asked.

"Docking," he said.

"It's not possible," DONN interjected.

"No," Jeb responded. "It's necessary."

Jeb epically docks to the spinning ship, toughing out the limited fuel and electricity of the Ranger, as well as the intense G-loads (Bill and Bob blacked out, by the way). After GALE confirms the dock is secure, Jeb eases out the station, then activates the Timberwinds and pushes the ship out of orbit.

GALE enters the remains of the Delta-19 and accesses the damage. Docking Port 2 was damaged beyond repair, a solar panel and a radiator was lost, but the worst loss was the centrifuge facility's hibernation bay was destroyed. The crew doesn't have enough life support to last the way back to Kerbin without taking a nap in their cryogenic stasis pods. Also, they have limited fuel left, and after losing a radiator, they can only burn the engines for a short time.

Fortunately, both the KSC and CCC have extensive networks of bases and stations in the Jool system. GALE returns to the Ranger-2, where the rest of the crew is waiting, after repressurizing the station to explore their options:

Spoiler

Bill: "Oh! How about Pol? It's a hot spot for refueling there!"

DONN: "The transfer window is less than ideal. Bop, too."

Val: "There's no way we're going to Tylo. We don't have enough Delta-V."

Bob: "Well, we could have used the Vall refueling station if Jeb hadn't just burned us right out of there!"

Jeb: "Hey! I-"

GALE: "Arguing will not fix our problem. How about Laythe? It's close by and by far the most populated out of all the Joolian moons."

Bob: "I don't think so. Laythe is just out of range. I already did the math for it."

Jeb: "Hmmm... we're already on a course for Jool. If I can adjust our trajectory so we skim the atmosphere, we can get to Laythe with half our Delta-V left to spare."

After much deliberation, it was decided that they would go to Laythe for repairs and fuel. Jeb said that he can aerobrake at Jool to get the transfer just right.

Cheeky double post, but I was tired of watching the thread get buried.

GALE: Well, no one is saying it, so I guess I will: Dammit, Jeb.

Jeb: I think we aerobraked a little too hard at Jool...

Val: Well, at least we all escaped in the Ranger-2 before Delta-19 crashed!

Bill: Yeah, but that reentry and sub-optimal landing damaged the Ranger's tokamak reactors. Those were the Ranger's main power source. We'll need to repair those before we're flight-worthy again.

Bob: What about the spares?

DONN: Those were the spares.

DONN uses his scanners and determines that the Velocity Raptors are robots, led by MJ-0 who somehow survived!!! The team finds a Ranger spacecraft in perfect condition and rocket off into space. They establish contact with a CCC orbital station named Station Lima-12. Talon Squadron (remember them all the way back from the Evening-Star incident?) is dispatched to initiate an air strike on MJ-0 and the Velocity Raptors.

the air strike was 10  meters off target and missed MJ-0 and the velocity raptors they then fire up their rcokets and rocket after the Ranger 3 and then start firing SRB's at the ranger which has to doge and weave while staying on course for kerbin one of the rockets hit the engines which the caused the Ranger to go spinning off towards Tylo where they have another base set up.

Spoiler

Yes i get the Interstellar References brilliant actually.

Carefully balancing the thrust, they manage to slingshot towards Duna using Tylo's gravity. It will take years, so the crew settle into cryogenic hibernation. Perhaps we can catch up on the business on Kerbin with Manfred Kerman...

An updated guide to the systems and structure of the CCC:

Spoiler

The Center for Chaos Containment (CCC) is an organization run by the Kerbin Nations Command (KNC). They span the not only the entire planet of Kerbin, but also the have bases on almost all the planets and moons of the Kerbolar System. The leader of the CCC is the Secretary of Chaos Containment. Serving under him are four Directors of the four branches: the Northwest Branch, Northeast Branch, Southwest Branch, and the Southeast Branch. Each branch covers their respective sector of Kerbin. The acronyms for game purposes are CCC-NW, CCC-NE, CCC-SW, and CCC-SE, respectively. The two directors of the most major branches are Director @TwoCalories (CCC-NW) and Director @Royalswissarmyknife (CCC-SW).

The CCC headquarters is located near the KN headquarters in New York City. The headquarters is also the main center of operations for the CCC-NW (formerly CCC-DC), the largest branch. The Dessert Airfield serves as the headquarters of the CCC-SW (formerly CCC-DA). In each sector, there are also many more bases and outposts.

Though the CCC mostly consists of Containment Operatives (the CCC military force), along with the more elite Containment Commandos, there are also scientists and sometimes even Kerbonauts within the CCC's ranks.

Uniforms (consisting of usually a cap and lab coat for scientists and controllers, a cap and jumpsuits for aerospace, and tactical battle gear for operatives and commandos), are coded by color: camouflage is for operatives, dark blue for aerospace, and sky-blue for scientists.

Spoiler

The CCC is actually from a game called The Henry Stickmin Collection, so the uniforms and procedures are inspired by it.

img%5D

A CCC operator from the Henry Stickmin game.

The CCC utilizes lots of equipment. Only the best military technology is utilized by CCC operatives. That includes (but not limited to) the prototype F-35X (better and cheaper F-35), F/A-18s, a handful of aircraft carriers (and more other boats), ICBMs, etc. Containment Operatives also utilize Magnetic Plasma Rifles, and a smaller Magnetic Plasma Sidearm for higher-ranking members. Commandos use a more powerful and efficient version of the MPR-5, called the MPR-7. The MPR-5 is a versatile weapon system, designed to have interchangeable parts to fit many roles (e.g., sniper configuration, heavy configuration, etc.). Its ammunition are small canisters of high energy gas that are converted into plasma. Squads of operatives also have one or too high-tech Support Robots (formally known as Multi-Role Support Robot), inspired by TARS and CASE from Interstellar. Support robots have many tools, including a compact MPR-5, non-lethal weapons, flares, a welder, etc.

CCC Containment Operatives travel in Task Forces. They are designated a squad number and a code name (e.g., Task Force Echo). Four squads make up a Platoon. Five platoons make up a company. Finally, a Battalion consists of five companies. Each one is commanded by a Sergeant, Lieutenant, Captain, and Commander, respectively.

The CCC scientists and command have access to an advanced satellite network around every planet and moon in the Kerbolar System. They also give orders, command strikes, and detect any chaos that may appear. They also research any returned specimens from any containment operations.

The CCC pilots are not affiliated with the more militarized side of the CCC. They test prototype vehicles, go to space, man extraplanetary outposts, and train new pilot recruits. They are probably the smallest branch. However, among their ranks are the famed Jebediah Kerman and his friends. They also have access to Support Robots, as well as the Ranger SSTOs: the most advanced spacecrafts Kerbalkind has ever seen. They also have Fortress landers, which are heavy cargo landers. Containment Operatives have access to the Ranger-Lite SSTOs, a smaller, more maneuverable version of the Ranger, usually equipped with weapons for military operations.

Director @TwoCalories Thank you for a full overview of the restructuring of the CCC.

We do think that the current design of the HTSR (High Tech Support Robot) has a few issues

The main issue is power at this point in time. Thankfully we have an idea on how to solve it using existing technology's.

Using the MPR-5 as a base for a portable fusion reactor we could potentially make a Fusion reactor so small it could fit it the current design of the HTSR.

If we do manage to Add the PFR (Portable Fusion Reactor) into the HTSR it will be able to work without an external power source for thousands of years.

We also believe the PFR could be used to give electric cars infinite range and make large electric aircraft viable.

We would like to Request funding of at least 1 Million Funds (Kerbucks?)

We hope this message finds you well.

Hello, Director @Royalswissarmyknife. First of all, I'd like to congratulate you for your promotion to Director after Sigman Kerman went rogue.

I believe that there were a few oversights in the new overview. First off, the Support Robots are formally known as Multi-Role Support Robots (MRSR), but Support Robot is fine. Second, the MPR-5 is powered by canisters of high-energy gas, not a small fusion reactor. The smallest fusion reactor in the CCC's inventory is the one utilized on our Ranger-Lite SSTO, and even that is larger than a Kerbal.

However, there is more reasoning to not including advanced power generation on the Support Robot than just simply not having the technology. The MRSR is designed to be versatile, but also simplistic in design, with as little parts as possible. This is to minimize ways that a Support Robot could fail. By adding a fusion reactor, this would greatly increase the complexity and mass of the Support Robot, as well as limiting its functionality.

The idea of a miniaturized fusion reactor for civilian use is quite promising, however, so we will be sending the :funds:1,000,000. However, as a precaution, we will position a company of CCC-NW operatives at the Dessert Airfield to make sure no more people go rogue or misuse the funding.

Speaking of rogue, I have some rather... uncomfortable news.

*Switches to secure channel*

One of our Task Forces has located a large bunker east of the Dessert Airfield. We found at least ten cryopods, each one containing a former CCC member thought to be dead. One was opened, and it was labeled "Manfred Kerman", the former Director of the CCC-SW before Sigman Kerman. Do you know anything about this?

I say it would be nice to add a new team to the current four: the Mercenaries. The Mercenaries will do any of the four original sides' bidding; at the right price, of course. This will add an element of neutrality or betrayal, as one team could offer a better price than the next.

I also think at team for the MechJebs would be good. Their objective would be to just try and kill every team. This will give reason for the four/five sides to band together, like we saw with MJ-0.

@Abel Military Services what do you think?

MRSR-143 "ZIPP" - LOCATION: SECTOR 14, WESTERN GRASSLANDS - TASK FORCE RIPTIDE

ATTEMPTING TO SECURE CONNECTION ... CONNECTION SECURED

"Command, do you copy? This is Riptide-1. We have a visual on an abandoned CCC storage depot, where we've been witnessing unusual activity for the past day or so. It's almost like someone is inside...? We're requesting permission to check it out."

"Command to Riptide. You've got the all clear."

Meanwhile on Kerbin, Western Grasslands-

Commando Unit Riptide continued into the abandoned facility. Their glowing green visors pierced through the darkness. Their support robot, ZIPP, was tracking one heat signature. It looked to be a Kerbal.

The commandos moved forward. They found boxes which had clearly been opened and rummaged through. The floor was littered with papers and empty food and water rations. One computer was still left running. It was listening in on all the CCC communications.

They were moving through a long, dark corridor when Sergeant Teale (their commanding officer) held up his fist; the hand signal for "halt".

He peered around the corner. The Kerbal was there.

He and his troops jumped out and activated their floodlights. The unknown Kerbal was completely illuminated. Then they could see it was Manfred Kerman, thought to be dead for over forty years.

@Royalswissarmyknife, your move.

Manfred Kerman after being shocked fainted and fell to the ground.

The CCC Takes Manfred to an unknown facility and waits for him to wake up.
