Duna ground science not transmitting, disabling randomly...?

Recommended Posts

Possibly a stupid question: I've deployed some ground science on Duna (experiments deployed by scientist, solar panels by engineer for maximum gains).

The Go-ob ED and Weather analyzer have completed 100% science but won't transmit any back to Kerbin, despite decent Comm signal strength. Am I missing something? Do I need relays in Duna orbit?

Also, the experiments keep disabling themselves (the completed ones), despite there being way more power than required. I even sent a manned mission to switch them  back on, and to deploy more power just in case, but they switched off again straight away. They seem to get disabled in time warp.......?

I've only ever tried deploying those things on Mun, which, due to being tidally locked, never would lose contact with Kerbin. Maybe that's the issue? Do you have relay sats deployed? How consistent is the coverage?

Long time getting back to this, sorry!

I now have three RA-100 satellites in orbit, everything has near-perfect connection.

I sent another mission for the scientist to re-enable the disabled parts, still no transmission. By picking up the experiments and replacing them, was able to get the science from them.

After replacing, the experiments have started running again. Science is being collected but zero transmission, despite round-the-clock connection.

Starting to think this is a bug of some sort. Am I misunderstanding  how the CommNet works?
