The Salamondastron Program: How to Reach the Speed of Light Without Cheats

Nice afternoon for a launch. Salamondastron 1 rockets upward, going where no rocket has gone before... of this class because it's a redesign of the original Salamonastrons.

After some worrying about the boosters and their decouplers almost overheating, I can detach the fairing, the LES, and the boosters. 

Floating serenely in space. This is our first launch of the Salamondastron Program. Its goal? Reach the speed of light without cheats.

Orbital insertion burn. The Kerbals are very calm.

Detaching the capsule. Testing the upper stage will be done another time.

After warping to sunrise, we get this beautiful view of the capsule and the booster.

Overall Distance Flown: 26,581 m = not far

Ships Launched: 1 = not many at all
