[1.12] Deployable Inventory (2022-08-11)

The mod adds inventory 1.25m, 2.5m and 3.75m parts, that could be placed in other inventories.
It is possible because the parts could be inflated and deflated, and in the deflated state its not an inventory, but just a cargo part.

The parts in the mod are configs that reuses Deployable Habitation parts from the SSPXr.

Parts have DeployableInventoryModule and stock ModuleCargoPart in the config, that will make less problems with mods like KSP Part Volumes.

As much as I would've wanted to play with this mod, it seems I can't afford to, because one of the mod's dependencies, StationPartsExpansionRedux, is too big, at 424.6 MB when installed.

That's not good for trying to load the game up, especially when playing with other large-sized mods like, say, Bluedog Design Bureau (which is 2.0 GB in size), or various planet packs like Real Solar System (in which the 2048x1024 texture pack is around 285.9 MB in size).

What I'd like to request is to make a standalone version of this mod, where only the bare minimum files that are necessary from your mod dependencies, especially StationPartsExpansionRedux, are ported over to your mod itself. Although this would result in making your mod a bit bigger than its already meager 494.7 KB installation size, it should, overall, make loading the game easier by making it no longer necessary to have to load such an even more massive dependency as the StationPartsExpansionRedux mod.

I don't think the StationPartsExpansionRedux licence allow that, because:

Also I don't want to.

:)

But you can safely install it using CKAN, and then remove anything that you do not need.

This mod only requires the Deployable Habitation parts from the SSPXr.
I don't remember exact paths, you can start with removing everything in StationPartsExpansionRedux/Parts/ except:
StationPartsExpansionRedux/Parts/Extendable
StationPartsExpansionRedux/Parts/Common
