Parallax is compatable with Kcalbeloh and Beyond Home, with there being mods to add scatters for OPM and MPE. Precursors is also planning to release a Parallax update soon. (these are all the ones i can remember off the top of my head)

Thanks for the answer, also is Scatterer also compatible? How to change the settings for different  mods in game

  • 2 weeks later...

Never really been to this thread because I've never had to troubleshoot this mod. For whatever reason I found myself reading a lot of the posts and feel compelled to thank the Author of Parralax. (Forum Won't Tag)

If one were to point to the proliferation of KPS1 mods and attempt to identify a core group of those responsible for allowing KSP1 to maintain relevance 15 years later.. parallax & scatterer will likely be included regardless of those being polled.

@Gameslinx Thank you for your innumerable hours spend improving this game. I am glad you have been able to offset some of your development costs.

I am completely ignorant of the development scene, but imagine scale & depth (scope) of your efforts likely have cost requirements  that exceed most "amateur / hobby" developments.

I tend to look at the patraen as closed beta pushed out to those that follow and support you most closely.

The biggest issue with paid mod (IMHO) is degradation of the community. When groups & select individuals produce 99% of modded content and use this popularity to become gatekeepers. Preventing innovation and sniffling cross mod compatibility & large group projects like Wild Blue/ USI / MKS / Community Patch efforts.

The moddong community of this wonderful game is still quite helpful and free with its advice.

Without your wonderful mod, many of those playing today would likely have a little less enthusiasm. Have a little more difficultly getting their buddy at work to try the game.. if it wasn't for the beauty provided by modders like you.

Instead of worrying about your cost VS gain model for bringing me even me more KSP1 goodies in the future... i would rather

Thank you, sincerely, for all the wonderful work you have already put into this game. Really. Yesterday I was supposed to make a list of the things I am thankful for and KSP1 made the list.

(Some laugh that a game made the list, but the game helped walk me back from suicide and addiction. )

Also, I wish you the best in your upcoming work with the folks at JNO.

Mod is Amazing. Thanks Again

It's been a while since my last update on development (and I don't have a huge amount to show just yet) but work on the scaled versions of the planets is coming along really well. I'm super pleased with how Minmus looks so I thought I'd share it.

The quality could be better as it's just a capture of the Unity viewport - this isn't in-game just yet - but the shader work is pretty much done. Notice the skybox reflections on the ice! That's something I really want to translate into the game and should hopefully be possible with a bit of extra logic.

For modders I'm still figuring out the best approach here, but I'd like to streamline the process as much as possible. Hopefully all that's needed is a small config telling Parallax to apply its textures to the desired planets without much setup needed beyond the existing terrain texture workflow.

That's all for now :)

This is quite stunning, to say the least... :o

That's not maybe where to ask for this, but do you have any update on Parallax Continued / RSS Reborn compatibility ?
Or maybe it's on RSS Reborn's side and it has nothing to do with Parallax Continued, uh.

Question

is there a way to write a patch to exclude a part from various PBR magic?

Reason :

I've been told the PBR is causing the transparency with an old parts mod i love.

(Thought it was deferred or TUFX but I'm personally ignorant of this stuff)

I find myself hard pressed to let go of the USI Packrat Utility Rover mod by RoverDude.

The external command sear is not invisible except for the shadow on the VAB floor. There is also a single green node to indicate attachment.. but orientation is impossible to discern.

I can post logs if it will help. Any insight would be appreciated. If the answer is impossible, I do have janitors closet installed.
