KSP Missing executable error

For the past 2 days i've been unable to run ksp through steam. Every time I try to launch it it comes up with this same error

So far I've tried:

-Restarting my computer

-Deleting every mod

-Verifying game files

-Completely deleting KSP and reinstalling

-Clearing the steam download cache

-Updating to the latest version of KSP

-Downgrading to older versions

Nothing has worked and at this point I'm so frustrated, any help is appreciated. (Note: If I run the game through the actual executable file, it ends up using 21gb of ram when normally it's supposed to use 7gb)

SO I updated the game to 1.12.3 and now it's working again.

It's good that you were able to solve your problem.

I'll add that if you use mods it's generally a good idea to play KSP outside of the Steam managed folder. Just copy the entire KSP folder somewhere else and play from there. If you use CKAN for managing mods make sure to point it to that new folder, too.

Then if you ever want to experiment with mods you can make another copy of your working KSP folder and effectively have 2 independent copies of KSP each with different mods.
