Expand Station Glitch

Hi, little stuck.  Mission with expand station.  It's been expanded and everything except the condition of "Be in Command of Kerbal Station Ship" is met.  There is a kerbal onboard.  There are two cupola's and a MK1 command pod attached.  For some reason only the Be in command portion is not met.  Any ideas on how to be in command?

That is odd.  Forgive me, you left a few details out:

• Are you actually flying the station?  In other words, not just observing it from the Tracking Station, but actively controlling it?
• Do you have a radio connection to KSC?  There should be some green (or yellow or orange) bars in the upper-left part of the screen, which look like a cell-phone signal display.  Do you have at least one bar?  If it's a red or orange space-ship symbol instead of one or more bars, that means you don't have a connection to KSC.  Not sure if that's even a requirement, but something to check.

You may need to use the alt-f12 cheat menu to complete that contract.

Here's my guess at what happened. The contract said to expand station "X". You built "Y" to expand X. If Y is bigger than X the station gets renamed during docking and might prevent contract completion. The vessel type can also change to something other than "station".

Which half of the pair you control at the exact moment of docking can make a difference.

That's all based on my using a combination of stock and modded contracts. Your game setup might differ.

Thanks, that was it.  Had 2 ships with same name but the unique id for the contract matched the wrong station.
