I call it, "Away Team"

To celebrate my excitement for KSP2 I would like to share with everyone my "Away Team" SSTO/A. I bought Kerbal on console and learned the basic aerodynamics and build techniques, despite bugs. I learned about game development, I learned about space, and shortly after I made this craft on console, I got a PC and recreated it.

I really wanted a craft that could truly be an SSTA, so it needed the big drill, the big converter, ample crew, etc.

This is what I came up with.

I allowed part clipping as long as it looked externally acceptable. All parts are otherwise stock.

It is an SSTO- it has some extra tanks, but they aren't necessary for reaching orbit.

If you can get it to Minimus the NERVs will facilitate an acceptable landing, but optimizing the flight to reserve enough dv is difficult.

@RadProTurtle My goal was as compact as possible with mining equipment. The project definitely pushed my aesthetic and parts clipping rules to the max. The resource converter is definitely in the cockpit seats.

The fun part is refueling it and hopping around with VTOL on Duna. Definitely needs a tug vessel, but otherwise it is interplanetary (Using Minimus as jump off). I've taken it to Laythe twice, but never brought it back after getting back in LLO. There's something to try, eh?
