Docking ports not docking?

Hi there, 

I'm trying to build a space station in Kerbin orbit. I've lined up the docking ports exactly but am unable to dock. Am i missing something here or am i doing it wrong? These are clampotron MD docking ports and set the other port as a target. I didn't rotate them or something like that, just placed them on either end where I want them to make a connection. Please find images below.

I found the solution! I had the docking ports upside down... Launched two new ships and docked succesfully :D. Man this game looks gorgeous.

Done this many times in KSP 1 with the 2.5 meter ports.

Early Access tip w/ the docking ports - if you build a craft in the VAB w/ two modules connected via Docking Ports, do not connect a strut between both modules. If you do, the game will think the craft is broken when you undock while in orbit. Only after removing the strut did this issue go away for me.
