Multiple missions and debris slow down performance?

Recommended Posts

Am I the only person encountering this issue? The game has slowed down very, very much recently. I have launched multiple vessels and have left a lot of debris in orbit. Tried to set the "persistent debris" settings to 0 but to no effect.

If you delete the debris does performance recover? In the Tracking Station, the “trash can” icon to delete debris isn’t working (bug), but you can focus on it, then click on it directly and delete from the context menu that appears.

Unfortunately no, deleting debris does not result in improved performance. I think it maybe has something to do with the fact that vessels are not unloaded in the star system?

I can't say exactly if it's related. But I encountered strange behaviors (crashes, unability to launch a vessel from the VAB, etc…). I deleted my game data folder and started from a blank page, and the game was much more responsive, loaded faster, etc…

I hadn't that much vehicles in orbit, no more than 5 to 7, and about the same number of debris. But I guess it's expected that the game performs better on a clean save than on one that has multiple objects to track
