Ultra Wide

Recommended Posts

Hi so I was wondering  if  ultra wide displays options will be on the table.

I have an Asus XG49v 31:9 -3840*1080 144Hz  screen works grate for KSP1 in full screen but KSP 2  well not so good in full screen and only 1920*1080 @60Hz.

I know its only the first few days of the beta dropping. Here's hopping I can enjoy KSP in Full Ultra Wide 31:9 @144Hz in the near future.

I have a 32:9 with a native 5120x1440, and, lemme tell you, it works (mostly) and it's literally game changing.

Here's how you can change it manually since there isn't an option in the game menu yet.
• In File Explorer, paste this into the address bar: %AppData%\..\LocalLow\Intercept Games\Kerbal Space Program 2\Global
• Open settings.json in a text editor (Notepad++ is my preferred method, but regular old Notepad will work)
• Find the line that says "ScreenResolution" and change the value next to it to be your monitor's native resolution (in my case, I put in 5120x1440)
• Save the file
• Launch the game, and it should just work

There are some quirks since it's not yet officially supported; the loading screens, for example, aren't yet designed for ultrawides so they're going to look goofy. Same with the Training Center; the camera is, like, cropped in too far. But otherwise, it should all work as expected. Be aware that if you adjust the resolution in-game after this, it'll go back to only having 16:9 options, and you'll need to edit settings.json again.

thank you both for your input.

I do love playing KSP1 with this Monitor.

For me with Vanilla settings my game is all  squished in full screen.

with the path you shared I will look in to it, I'm okay some goofy Resolution, I am happy to hear Ultra Wide is going to work in the end.

again thanks

well it works @5120*1440 https://imgur.com/QhGpm2q

This worked perfectly for me. Thanks. 2560x1080
