The program won't generate that exact value, but will only generate up to as many as you specify. You can specify minimum planets/moons in the setting.py file.


And for the second image, it looks to be a bugged corona, Check if InfiniteDiscoveries/Textures/Misc/None.dds exists in your install
Finally, where did you install the mod from, was it spacedock or github?

Hey, I’m away from my PC at the time. it did the same when i tried to generate 100 stars prior, where it would only generate one or two. Is the program supposed to just shut down when it’s done, or is it supposed to tell me that it’s finished? That would help me figure out if it’s busted or if I’m just very unlucky.

Python is incredibly annoying where it doesn't print the error and instead completely closes the window. Also, did you run it inside the zip file? Not sure if that can actually be done though...
Anyway, best you can do is wait for the next update where I add a log to store all the errors in.

Agreed. It turns out that ImageMagick wasn’t working, so i did the thing it told me not to do and set it to false in the limits script. 100 stars generated this way with 2-10 planets and 0-5 moons won’t kill me, eh? Right?

Thank you for this mod, it's exactly what I was looking for. Back in 1.2 I used To Boldly Go, which stopped updating back in 1.9 and I sorely missed it. 

A couple extremely low priority requests.

#1: Integration with Kopernicus expansion continued-er's Wormhole's.

#2: City Lights on planets with Life.

I wholly expect none of these to come to pass, but I figured I'd at least throw them out there. 

Again, thank you for what I would nominate for Mod of the Year.

A progress bar is essentially impossible with how the generator works. (it comes up with values on the spot.)
The closest would be an estimate, but the values vary so much that it's just straight up guessing.

there's no point in adding this mod to ckan, you'd still have to manually open the folder to run the exe, then remove the folder containing the exe so that ksp can load

Now that's some hot stuff right there! Ever since To Boldly Go got abandoned I've been hoping someone would make a system generator like this. And this is already looking amazing!

I guess now KSP1 won't ever die, because even when every modder has retired and all existing planet packs have been played to death, we can just generate infinite new ones. ;)

 

Has anyone tried this with Research Bodies already? I'm not sure if Research Bodies even *needs* configs for a system or if it would just default to start with everything hidden.

i did not know something like research bodies existed, i'll have to try that with the next update now

so step by step:

I extracted the "Infinite_Discoveries-0.9.7.1" in the game folder
got to "InfiniteDiscoveries" and ran "generate system" in the "GenerateSystem" folder and opened the game.
the loading is stuck at the very beginning saying "Updating Parts" in the loading bar.
then i exited and ran "generate system" again but this time in "InfiniteDiscoveries" folder and ran the game again and same result.

And i didnt touch anything else yet.
