Moving the Root Part Turns Stages with Deltav to Zero When There is Available Fuel

KSP2 Version: 0.1.2.0.22258
Operating System: Windows 10
CPU+GPU+RAM: i9 9900K+3070ti+32GB
Mods Used: None

In the video the following happens as the root part is changed to different stages:

  • 3 Seconds Stage 9 goes from 2969 to zero.
  • 7 Seconds Stage 7 goes from 1319 to zero and Stage 9 stays zero.
  • 10 Seconds Stage 5 goes from 954 to zero and Stage 7 + Stage 9 stay zero.
  • 13 Seconds Stage 3 goes from 632 to zero and Stage 5 + Stage 7 + Stage 9 stay zero.
  • 13+ Seconds Stage 1 keeps its deltav but all other stages stay zero
  • The rest of the video is just me going back up the stages.

More Information:

  • Before the limiting of the maneuver node to the available Deltav (in patch2) this was annoying but not crippling to the player. 
  • Now if the Deltav isn't available, the player has no way to counter the problem because the maneuver node just won't work even though the player actually does have the fuel to do the maneuver.
  • KSP1 suffered from this issue as well. But KSP1 had a maneuver node that went red and continued going when the available Deltav was exceeded so it wasn't the end of the world.
