Orbitalreef and welcome

 Hi.  I have built 3d things for Orbiter for many years. I decided to give KSP a shot.

So I follow the guides and had help to get a simple Orbital reef module.    It is just a model with 4 docks.

But not sure why this is happening. 

It looks like a bright light pointing down.

and when I grab another to joint them.  I need to drop it to switch to a better view.  It turns red and I can never get it to delete or move into position.

Hi there, i guess you are refering to KSP1, and the issue you are describing reminds me of a certain mod, Vanilla KSP1 runs perfect as i remember...

I use Imgur as imagehost, very convenient and straight forward

Thanks.  I have seen this before where the item is red.  I can't get it to delete/move

Not sure about the light either
