Why are there no new videos of the Science Update?

Please give me one example from the past 9 months why anyone should "have faith" as it pertains to the development of this game.

I can give you 5.

0.1.1, 0.1.2, 0.1.3, 0.1.4, 0.1.5.

Each one made the game better even without introducing new features.

Whether the progress in those patches was sufficient to warrant faith is of course open to discussion.

But thankfully there is very little need for faith at this point in relation to the Science Update that is the main topic of discussion here. If you already bought the game, it doesn't really cost you much to check out the science update. If not, then you can wait until you see some videos and discussions on it. Either way, you'll see what you'll get without having too invest much in it.

Faith is only required if you want to buy the game now for the end-of-roadmap features such as Multiplayer and Interstellar. Which personally I would advise against, unless science manages to impress a good many people.

I believe this is about community management. Tons of videos were released before EA release, which increased the level of hype as a consequence. However, since the initial release was dissapointing to many, people started to blame the KSP2 team for wasting their time making videos instead of making actual progress. I believe they don't want to make FS another EA release, so that's reasonable to me.

Frankly, given our reaction it’s amazing they’re still talking to us :).

It could've been so much more*. So far it looks like there's less clicking and more of "how do I place the part". Not very game changing.

I’m reserving judgement until all the systems are implemented.

It’s clear that there needs to be more to do than in KSP1’s career mode for it to carry the much longer and bigger campaigns the game is intended to support. That’s going to be the sum of all systems. Making any individual system much more detailed and involved could actually end up with the complete game feeling like a mass of micromanagement chores.

I am very keen to see what the science update brings and I hope it’ll be fun in its own right, but I also think it shouldn’t be too complex or it would risk becoming annoying once the resource system comes online.
