Low Quality Planet Packs [LQPP] Release Thread

Recommended Posts

Hello all, and welcome to the release thread for Low Quality Planet Packs!

Low Quality Planet Packs are small planet packs made for low-end computers, or for people who do not care about fancy graphics.  The only dependencies these mods will ever have is Kopernicus (And all of its dependencies) and ModuleManager. Some will be interstellar, and some will add to the stock system.

These mods contain:

-Low quality textures (2048x1024 or less)

-Small, compact systems

-No sciDefs, ground scatters, etc.

I decided to make these after playing many planet mods, with many being so well made that they'd lag my game even on the lowest graphics settings.

RELEASES:

LQPP: Truyot

Spoiler

Truyot is a large, red gas giant located between Duna and Jool. It contains 3 moons, one of which is habitable. (Fun fact, the names of all the worlds are an anagram for the sentence "Try out my first mod, hope it works")

CELESTIAL BODY LIST:
Truyot: Large and red, with gray poles. Has large red rings, too.

Ym: Shepherd moon of Truyot, sits in between the rings on a close orbit to Truyot

Dirmfost: Nearly Kerbin-sized habitable world with tan and reddish land

Hepitowsork: White and purple icy world, larger than Kerbin at around 700 km

I'd also like to give thanks to everyone in the Kopernicus discord server, without them, this would've been impossible. Thank you all for your help!

LQPP: Oasis

Spoiler

Oasis is a new moon orbiting Kerbin between the Mun and Minmus. It is habitable, with a single crater sea and an oxygenated atmosphere at the same pressure as Kerbin's. Be advised of phantom terrain when you land a craft there.

CELESTIAL BODY LIST:

Kerbin: Unchanged

The Mun: Unchanged

Oasis: The new desert moon, mostly tan with a single crater sea

Minmus: Unchanged

LQPP: Wilmo

Spoiler

Wilmo is a gas giant that orbits beyond Jool. It has a host of moons for you to explore.

CELESTIAL BODY LIST:
Wilmo: Large, mostly a blueish white color with dark gray poles

Oolee: Iceball that orbits in-between Wilmo's rings. Looks suspiciously like Eeloo...

Andesso: Large beige moon, just a big hunk of rock

Nitrel: White and blue iceball of a moon, has a relatively thin nitrogen atmosphere

Wellow: Habitable moon with its own rings

Alfonso: Huge and gray moon with its own rings too, probably a captured planet since it's so large it has its own moon

Alonso: A tiny ball orbiting close to Alfonso

Cronos is a GP3 analogue that orbits far from Jool. It has a rocky surface and oceans of an exotic liquid, but also has a crushing gravity and atmosphere.

CELESTIAL BODY LIST:
Cronos: Terrestrial world with crushing gravity and oceans of an exotic liquid. Has an atmosphere 30 times thicker than Kerbins.

Oread: Lumpy asteroid with... "unique" terrain that orbits very eccentrically

New moon? New suit? It must be Christmas!

This mod has been released! Check it out in the main post above!

Oasis is a new habitable desert moon orbiting Kerbin, so if that space between the two normal moons is feeling empty to you, give Oasis a go!

The suit will be released sometime soon in a new thread, so stay tuned for that

I have the Titania mod. Will Oasis and Titania have any conflicts?

Unfortunately yes, though you could use Hyperedit to shift the positions to where their SOI's don't overlap

GLITCH FOUND! meitra and kessa's atmospheres are glitched, here's a screenshot https://imgur.com/gallery/weird-johanna-glitch-SiirHt1
edit: benthesikyme also has this glitch, possibly amperite too but i'm not sure

Those are just the atmorims, Kerbin has one but it's much less noticeable. It's basically so you can see the atmosphere well from space

These mods are really cool. I dont have a low end-PC so I'm not really the target audience, but I really enjoy these. It gives a nice sense of nostalgia about the early planet backs. They are all super fun. Thanks!
