Kethane Pack 0.9.2 - New cinematic trailer! - 1.0 compatibility update

Hi Everyone!

I guess I forgot everything about kethane from back a couple versions ago, and I fired it up in .25 and built the plain jane minmus refinery station. I have a small satellite that runs two converters, not connected to anything via fuel lines. It pumped perfectly and filled up an orange tank docked to it. I flew that home and went to duna, success.

So now I've upgraded my driller, flew that to minmus. It again has a medium converter, but didn't run on the planet surface. Took it to the station, and docked it despite putting the RCS in 2fold symmetry instead of 4. Oops. Nothing. Couldn't fill tanks with the satellite as before.

I then went back and figured all this stuff out about fuel lines and directions of connections. OK, but, why did it work before and not now? Any tips?

You need a tank of tank of LFO fuel on the converter or have a fuel line to the tank of LFO. Otherwise it doesn't work.

Yup. Must have at least one small tank for each resource you'll be converting Kethane to. Transfer from that tank to the ship you're refueling as it's converting. It's easier with a mod like TAC Fuel balancer which can handle multiple tanks and resource types simultaneously. Natively, KSP can only transfer between two tanks at once but can transfer all resources common to both tanks at the same time.

Thanks for the tips guys, when I'm back on my feet I'll see if I can add another tank to the converter and relaunch it. The big tank was the hard bit to put down there as it was a little iout of balance making the retroburn really difficult, it tended to twist onto it's side, but the smaller ones were a cakewalk with mechjeb only. So it's not that bad of an issue.

Interesting lander you have for Minmus. I did an unusual one for Gilly so I could lift a lot of fuel at once for minimizing the number of extremely slow landings.

I received texture errors for the following two parts in my error log, as far as I can see the textures referenced are not in that location in the Kethane 0.8.1.zip thru 0.9.2.zip but do exist in the previous version 0.8.zip

So I thought I would mention it.

I have a question about scanning that I didn't find anywhere on the thread already (or on the wiki), but it may still be a bone-head question:

When I'm scanning a planet for kethane, the little window that appears when I mouse over a hex always lists both "kethane" and "ore". Why? What ore is that referring to? Not karbonite, since I looked at a hex directly over a karbonite hotspot and the window said the same thing as always: "(no data)". Is there a specific resource mod that is supposed to partner with kethane?

Extraplanetary Launchpads. The ore is supposed to be processed using a smelter, to be made into 'rocketParts' in flight. Ask in the EPL thread for more details.

Stupid question moment, but is Kethane in any way compatible, or reasonably capable of being made compatible, with RSS/RO?

For instance I was wondering if instead of "kethane" it could be changed over to hunt for various ices (water, ammonia, methanol, formaldehyde, etc.) and exploit them to make various resources (H2, O2, N2H4, H2O2, CH4, N2O4, etc.)?

Hello! When ever I download this mod and install it, the game crashes after loading. It just closes. I had it working one time, but now I can't get it to work again. Help please!

How many mods do you have? It might be a memory problem.

whenever i load the game with this mod I get a notification in the pre-menu loading screen saying something similar to "The following plugin is not compatible with this current version of Kerbal Space Program: Kethane. Some features will be disabled" even though I do have 0.25. And when it goes into the menu it either doesn't load or flashes really bright colours rapidly.

Hi, this might be a stupid question but i havent found anything about it so far...

So, my Kethane map wont show and my scanners wont beep in career mode.. if i start a sandbox and put on the modules, the map will be there and scanner will beep.

Ive had it working, but afaik it might be interfering with one of my mods? Im using :

KW

KAS

Kethane

Robotics

Tarsier Space Tech...

as far as i know, i got all the mods updated as needed.. anyone got the same problem or a possible solution?

This mod is being reported as incompatible with 0.90. There's a warning message during game loading (complains twice: once about 0.90 compatibility and then second time about incompatibility with Unity 4.5.5f1). It partially works, though. I can see the hexagonal overlay over Kerbin.
