Horizon Ball Question

So I know on the horizon ball prograde and retrograde are the green circles with crosses through etc. ect. But what is the purple symbol? It confuses me and makes me mess up my orbit. What is it?

The tutorial calls it a waypoint marker. Which waypoint it points the way to, I have no idea.

At present, it always points to:

A second KSC

They're supposed to point to and away from KSC, but currently there's a little glitch they haven't bothered to fix, and they point to an easter egg instead.

It's supposed to point back to the KSC. However, due to a glitch they never got round to fixing (and because nobody really used it), it points to something similar elsewhere. Follow the markers and see.

It's pretty useless, because for orbital flight, you never want to point your ship directly at your target. You might as well ignore the purple marker.

To my knowledge, no, unfortunately.

I've seen all sorts of videos with people using IVA, and they have vector and target markings. Is this stock, or does this require a mod? I've been wanting them so I can make instrumental landings.

I actually use it for knowing when to do my ejection burn for returning from the Mun.
