Currently dealing with blank glass on one of my mods RPM IVA. It's an old updated updated mod, so I assume it got messed up in translations.

Any ideas where to start looking? Only seems to effect one mod.  I played around with the glass reflection shader to no avail.

Is the transparent cockpit glass an iva prop or is it a part of the mesh?

For the internal model, just having no mesh, faces where the windows should be makes them transparent. And on the outer model making sure the glass mesh only has faces that are aimed out. No glass mesh where the faces are facing in to the cockpit.

It makes the canopy invisible rather than transparent. Having a proper transparent mesh facing inside the cockpit allows to create visual effects like scratches or indium zinc oxide coating. Or make a nightvision effect like this (I used a translucent shader)

My answer was based on the question asked. If the poster came back and asked for a specific look they were going for or that they wanted a see through heads up, then further info could be supplied. I have no idea of the posters experience level, so I can't just say use a translucent or transparent shader because I don't know if they have the experience you and I have to setup the material properties and adjust the opacity of the texture pic without having to think about it.

Invisible is transparent and is the simplest way to be able to see out of the cockpit. What you have in the pic is semi transparent to translucent and is great if you are trying for heavy immersion but not nessessarily what everybody wants. As you know, setting up the scratches or heads up on a semi transparent meshes texture pic is not something a novice could do without experience.

If the poster is new to all this then you need to go step by step through everything required in order to end up with result you have in the pics.

P.S

The poster isn't following this thread and has not replied since posting on the 1st of June, so may not even see this.

Usually it's a part the internal model, just a separate mesh with it's own transparent material. It has to be a prop if you are going to mess with it using RPM/MAS configs.

It's the simplest way for making the cockpit from scratch but topicstarter wants to fix the existing one  so it might be more easy to change shader settings in Unity editor than to rebuild the mesh in Blender. My guess is that there was some special effect on the canopy that got broken. And IVA guys like me usually have more experience in Unity editor than in Blender. My method of doing this is to spawn an IVA in Unity editor, and randomly mess up with shader properties while looking through the canopy until I get a satisfying result. :D  Unity editor uses KSP shaders so selecting a shader and playing with sliders is much more straightforward than weaving a spider web in Blender. But there are things that are not that straightforward, that's why I'm using mu plugin

Something I don't have access to, and I don't know if they do.

Have asked others before, but still nothing. Have you got a way I could get hold of the unity and part tools I need, Links or a download that work theses days?

PartTools download link is still working, not sure about TextMeshPro, this thing has never been working correctly in my Unity projects no matter which version of Unity I used.

Unity  2019.4.18f1 (not sure if it's the right version, but works for me) is available here in the 2019 tab  https://unity.com/releases/editor/archive

I may have to ask you for hints on things.

I'm using Unity just to place props in the IVA and perform experiments with shaders so I might not be that useful :(
