How can I not switch to my dropped off stage that has a probe in it?

I'm using the Stage Recovery mod so I added a probe to my first stage.  However, because of the probe the game keeps switching my control over to the first stage when I stage. How do I stop this?

I'm not familiar with that mod, but I believe you should stay with the assemblage whose control part is currently commanding the craft, right? If not than that may be a mod support issue.

This actually answered my question thank you. I decided to press "control from here" on the probe during flight and it worked.
