When I landed on Phabus, it still shows. When I last checked the same is true for Ryla and Vizak, but for memory reasons I'll have to test that again  when I regain access to the KSP computer. Also pro tip it might be easier to upload those pictures to imgur so they actually embed into the forum post. I'm not sure what the difference here is, beyond the physical size of the planet, so I'll have to do some digging before I move forward with the Sarnus feature plans.

One difference is that Vizak, Ryla, and Phabus all define materialType and a Material{} node in their PQS, whereas Hypo, Masmar, and Encethys do not. Removing these for Phabus "fixed" this issue — though the terrain texture there is probably not quite what was intended, and it made the PQS-to-Scaled transition even more jarring since it now also changes color quite drastically.

Another option would be to change materialType away from Vacuum. I ripped a page out of OPM and subbed in Hale's AtmosphericExtra Material definition with some CTTP texture swaps (does BUILTIN/RockyGround have a separate normal map? I think I'd need one if I wanted to keep your choice of textures...), and it worked sort-of alright:

Though the color change is still a little jarring, and even increasing PQS fadeStart/fadeEnd didn't fix the abrupt transition. Not sure what a good next step would be, but I think this demonstrates that if there's a problem it's in the Material{} definition.

EDIT: As a complete bypass to the system, there's also Parallax, though that runs into problems with the pixelation of the terrain color and height definitions, I think. Coming up with a good-looking and not-laggy Parallax config will be quite an exercise and I'm not sure I'm ready to take it on.

In that case when you upload things to your site of choice, try copying the image link by right clicking on the picture once its uploaded, not the link to the website. Like this:

Given that this definitely doesn't happen in other places that have broadly the same material node, like Dathil, Lyxis, and any number of Neidonian moons, this is starting to seem more and more like an arbsoup's-computer-specific problem. Of course there is the possibility that the small size of the objects are having an effect as well, given that Dathil and Lyxis are both very large in comparison (although Nyla and Psei, the originators of the template I'm using, are barely larger than Phabus)

Well, that's that, I suppose. Installed about as few mods as I needed for the test and still had the issues. Guess I'll either figure some Parallax patch out on my main install or just leave this out altogether. Damn, sorry about that.

@arbsoup This is definitely a problem with your computer, I just landed on Phabus and the PQS was exactly as intended the whole way through.

Gotta be fully honest I haven't seen any planet that isn't slightly blurry with RockyGround. I may want to make a replacement in the future. 

IN OTHER NEWS: I'm really close to fixing Ryla's PQS, for real this time. (the fourth time I've said that)

OPM, Minor Planets Expansion, Janet's Minor Planets and the OPX suite, as for visual mods I have EVE stock configs, Planetshine with default configs and Scatterer with default configs.

OK, ive fixed it. Whatever the issue is is seems to be with the Kerbol revamp in the stock system overhaul. I disabled that in the settings and it fixed it.

Go and check out Edge of Eternity. Its a system that the author of that mod invented to flesh out a moon system of a planet and add set dressing without hopelessly oversaturating it with science.

@The Minmus Derp what are DresMoon2 and Selbig???? I found them in the Cache file of OPX-SSM. Is Selbig the Eve moon? DresMoon2 is kinda self explanatory.

EDIT: Why did you resize Minmus? To make it more comet-like? Is that why it's set to Comet?
