Expand This is what i do, take a look at the TU wiki for why / what this does. Take the original texture, flip it and make it opaque, make it greyscale, fiddle with brightness / contrast, use the "CMY ghost" (from here) filter with everything turned all the way down, mess around with the luminosity / alpha curves, this makes the whole thing shiny metal, some bits shouldn't be (like windows) so they get edited out by making them dark and opaque. The changes I'm making are very likely to break literally all of the above changes, fair warning. I'm currently working on a recoulourable shader for stuff like Salyut stripes. Expand I was in the process of making one, but I put it on hold to work on RestockRecolour. I plan on finishing it once that project is done.. I think I even have a screenshot of my current progress: Reveal hidden contents and looking at it now, I believe I managed to make further progress past that, I remember having about 3-4 additional parts finished that aren't marked on here. To get the recolors working for that mod, I was using the 'variant switch' recolor method, where instead of using the TU selection bar, you pick the recolor as a variant. It's a lot more complicated, so each part takes longer to do. And, as indicated by this screenshot, at the time when this mod was flash-frozen in its partly-finished state, I was having an issue where the _other_ variants aside from the default one were breaking when the recolor capability was added. That of course, is something I'd prefer to fix before releasing anything, and maybe just looking at it with fresh eyes would let me figure out the issue.
