Give pause for Heliopause?

Greetings all.  About 9 years ago I proposed a mod to add far Kerbol science regions, just so probes that have escape velocity can find something.  Does anyone know if there has been any conversation on this in the almost 6 years I've been away from the forums?

With the stock science system, this would be impossible. To do this, i think you would have to code your own custom science module.

One way you could do it is to do what a few interstellar packs do — redefine the central Sun object as some black hole far away, then have the current Sun "Kerbol" orbit around it. That way it's possible to leave Kerbol's SOI at a distance the modmaker can decide, and enter a formal kind of "interstellar space", the SpaceHigh around that black hole.

That's an interesting notion, though you'd have to name it Heliopause, and have its High Space therefore be Heliopause High Space, which isn't too bad.  It would be nicer to be able to enter Kuiper Belt, Heliopause and Oort Cloud regions, but that would mean 5 regions for Kerbol instead of 2.

Kerbalism adds in radiation belts around planets, and Kerbol and creates a heliopause.  the Kerbalism Modular Science mod may be a goer fornyou ifbyou dont want life support and part reliability comcerns.
