From Hellfire Laboratories; we are pleased to announce our first ever published Space Craft for public purchase. This simple, even basic design should fulfil any required roles as a Waypoint in Low Munar orbit.

Introducing the first Low Mun Orbit Bus Shelter (working title…) complete with a one Kerbal mini bus, able to take Kerbals far from the orbit; and if you purchase the Blueprints now; the full sized Mun Bus will come absolutely free!

Give us some Details! I hear you cry! Well, the Bus shelter itself comes with one Hitchhiker’s module, for all your Kerbals to relax and have a cup of tea while they wait for their rides to dock; complete with 3 protruding support struts with ladders to grab hold on approach from the surface cannon; 16 RTG’s and various science equipment, this small module more than surfaces to occupy your Kerbals as they take a break between commutes. And for all you space craft needs, this shelter comes complete with 2 large docking ports, and 3, yes 3! Jr. docking ports.

This Station weighs in at only 5.4 t, and includes only 76 parts; which, if you like that minimalist approach, can be severely decreased by dropping the science equipment and some of the power sources. (However, a mini-bus is attached, bringing the weight up to 8.6t and 87 parts)

The Mini-bus, is a simple and elegant design, powered by an efficient engine, attached to a small amount of fuel and RCS, a good pilot will be able to make these Resources go far! It has a Docking port Jr. on its nose to dock with the Bus Shelter. This little gem has a mass of 3.23, and includes only 11 parts; but don’t be fooled by its size, it has a lot of “bang†for its “buckâ€Â

And finally, the full sized Mun-Bus, able to take 3 Kerbals far from the station, it has the next size up in everything that the mini bus has, and completely optional, with one large docking port on its nose! Finally, this was originally designed to be attached to the shelter during launch, but Hellfire’s testing dept. found a way to downsize the rocket; nice one you brainiac Kerbals at Hellfire Laboratories’ Testing Divisions. This original design has a mass of 17.47t, and a part count of 21.

For any users out there; action groups are as follows:

1 – activates all the ladders and equipment on the Shelter;

2 – Activates solar panels on the buses.

It’s so simple even your tiger could do it. (Hellfire laboratories will take no responsibility for Kerbals attempting to get tigers, or any other creatures, including Jebediah; crashing the buses, or otherwise inconveniencing your space programmes)

http://db.tt/9cS7nbZj Craft Files

PS: this is the first craft I’ve felt comfortable submitting, its not much, but I like it, so while I don’t expect to get picked, as it doesn’t stand out, I would love some feedback; I just got carried away with the sales pitch, was kinda fun :P

Cheers guys

Hello everybody!

As demand for light, sleek, expandable station cores rises only one Mouse can enter into this contest!

This is my first entry into the "That's No Moon.. Base" Community Build,

it's designed with the intention of being easy to handle with enough fuel for munar burns and an engine that can be jettisoned revealing the 5th docking port! The core already has the capacity for 4 Kerbals, as well as ample electricity generation hidden on the underside. This electricity powers communications arrays and two lighting arrangements which allow for future screenshot opportunities. Perhaps you could

fit a larger cannon onto the underside port for blasting travelers back to kerbin.

Entry Name: "BBB" Bill & Bob's Brainchild

link to Mediafire dl: http://www./download.php?jaj5vb8a5ui5ygq

Here's a shot of it in the VAB:

313kthd.jpg

And various levels of lighting:

no lights

ship lights only

all lights

I realize this design may be shot down for including a fuel tank and an engine, but without them the shape and style of the craft are lost imo.

If you really like the design feel free to use or tear off the fuel tank/engine. If not, I cant wait to see what you pick!

You can use the edited version by Scoundrel (can be found on page 4), aswell.

Just remember, if you crash, don't press restart flight but go back to the hangar and launch again (restart will make it explode instantly).

Let's see if you get it into orbit :-P

The Hecate Mün station

By Clamtech Industrial

The Hecate Mün Station is a commercially build space station with the purpose of housing a fair amount of kerbins for 'scientific' purposes. The station has been build with compatability with emerging technologies in mind, like giant cannons that launch Kerbonauts into orbit withoud the need of a rocket. This is why we use the revolutionary KERB-NET technology, which acts as a fishnet for your kerbals, but in SPACE.

Thanks to our greatest engineers we have build this space station core module with functionality in mind, providing a multitude of docking opportunities that connect diagonally for dramatic effect.

Our engineers made sure that you will never get in the same trouble as Scott Manley's space program ran into, by tactically placing stationary solar panels the space station will never run out of power, no matter which way it faces, or even when it is in the shadow of the Mün or in that of Kerbin, and even providing your space station with battery power in case someone turned off the sun. (The amount of time depending on how much porn your Kerbals are trying to download to forget the end of times.)

And for when there is sunshine, you won't need your Kerbexâ„¢ watches! Thanks to our brilliant executive board, our uni-directional communications system now also doubles as a solar clock, providing an accurate indication of time in case your batteries ran out.

With simplicity in mind, our best engineers managed to make sure that we stayed under our 100 parts limit (this includes bolts, coffee mugs, and knit hats) with a whopping total of just 76 induvidual parts, weighting at a total of 20,39 metric tons, which, considering for a space station, is in fact extremely light-weight thanks to our new PIXEL technologies which allow us to create structures as hollow as we can at sub-atomic levels withoud sacrificing structural integrity.

For your convinience we also provided a compact module filled with 20 kPadsâ„¢ in order to either control the space station remotely withoud any Kerbal intervention required, or to keep your Kerbals entertained with the thousands of apps available on this convinient and compact device that we never got purely for advertising reasons whatsoever.

Photographs of our station in preperation of private ventures by our own company can be found here: http://imgur.com/a/kS1ek

Thanks to new emerging technologies of subliminal advertising, we can afford to give away the blueprints of this station core for FREE! All you have to do is subject your mind to all kinds of subliminal messaging that will urge you to buy the products of companies like Rockomax industries so we can earn money on the advertising.

(Download link: https://www.dropbox.com/s/h0wuta12x5zvn5y/Hecate.craft )

Manual 1.01beta:

Step 1: Print space station core with 3D printer files provided

Step 2: Design and build launch vehicle

Step 3: Launch into Space

Step 4: Activate groups 3 and 4 to deploy the communications array and the Kerb-Net.

Step 5: Attach modules

I had an idea for a very fancy space station core, that can be used for artificial gravity system and/or propellantless propulsion system (fuel-transfer-based). Here is my prototype:

I0IamTcl.png

N2yFDoyl.png

GFErP7rl.png

(unfortunately, these screenshots don't show that middle part is spinning at about 1 RPM, but I'm too lazy to record a video)

So far I have a 8-wheeled glitchy spinny thingy, which uses tons of RCS to start, stops really quickly, and doesn't conserve angular momentum. The reason for all of these problems is that docking ports are too close and they magnetize to each other. Is there a way to disable it, or at least reduce the range? Do small docking ports have the same range as regular ones?

Also, I wonder, what other conservation laws it can break... Maybe I can use it for a propulsion system that doesn't use any fuel, and is faster than fuel-transfer-based ones... But I'll leave this for tomorrow. Today I need to rethink the design, and rebuild it, so I can move the docking ports further apart.

Introducing a basic station with less-than-basic features, the FSS. This station is designed with a few key traits in mind

1. simplicity

2. Ability (usefulness)

u75FbmC.jpg

Some basic facts

The craft: FSS (Frakkin Simple Station)

Manufacturer: Zokesia Skunkworks

Part count: 33

Mass:32.22

Supplies:

1,805 units electric charge

990 units fuel

1210 units oxidizer

750 units monopropellant

Download Here!

Why this craft?

Well, to start, it is designed around a comfortable lifestyle for the kerbals inside. Sure, we could have just slapped on a Hitchhiker Storage Container, but who knows what they do in there. So instead, we have an available 6 seats, one of which is taken by the pilot, for an available 5 Kerbonauts, with stunning views all around the ship. So no more cramped hitchhikers!

Next, it has a massive fuel system. Holding in 990 units of fuel, this craft has an orbital Change of Velocity (delta V) of 3278 m/s, meaning this craft can go from kerbin orbit to munar orbit easily, with room for mistakes, thanks to the 3 nuclear engines onboard.

For spacecraft docking operations, there are 3 docking ports attached radially along the fuel tank, and a large RCS tank, allowing for refueling.

Finally, it has a great lighting system. With 6 lights, 3 solar panels, and 3 battery arrays, This craft can stay lit day or night without worry, for those pesky nighttime operations.

ZRQ1Q8b.png

What does this all add up to? A simple, low part count station with great capacity, long range, and incredible usefulness, and all in a package that is far simpler than any of the competition.

Didn't have more time to work on the bearing station yesterday. I'll come back to it after I experiment a bit with using docking ports for propulsion.

EDIT: But I remembered one very important thing: if 2 objects aren't physically connected, they'll eventually drift apart. And even having them interlocked like in a bearing doesn't prevent it. If you turn on time warp, they'll slowly drift apart through each other. Obviously this is not an acceptable behavior for a space station or a warp drive, or pretty much anything else. So I discontinue these two projects.

Name of Utility: Munar Web Station

This lovely station consists of a mere 207 parts, most of which are the simple ladder rungs, and weighs in at a smidge under 23 mass units. While the part count is high, there is no drop in performance on my run of the mill PC, and considering this is to be in orbit, rather than next to all the other utilities, I consider it worthwhile. With room for 7 kerbals and a docking port for any interplanetary bus services, this small station is both functional and pleasingly aesthetic. A care free attitude to safety regulations has meant that small leaps of faith between each spar are occasionally required.
