HOCgaming's THAT'S NO MOON! Base - Craft Submission Thread

I have here (after my account was completely deleted, not sure if that's a problem, may have to speak to some mods about that), my Modular Rover

Pretty original name, don't you think? :P

Anyways, here it is:

SVhidPg.jpg

pnVEiP7.jpg

DL: Hi. I'm a link. :D Click meeee

Note: While there are mods in the picture, the rover itself is stock

Each of the modules can self sustain power, as well as have their own 40 units of RCS to be flown around on the Mun (pretty useless at this point, but it might be useful for something)

The 3 modules on the rover are: Sky Crane (once disconnected stays disconnected, be careful), Labor (flips stuff upside down, or right side up), and Utility (science and lights).

All of the parts are equipped with RTGs so you never have to worry about them going dead on you

Weight: ~4.5 T

â–³v: ~1550 (more than enough for landing)

Helpful hint: The main probe body is underneath the blue nose cone

Carries 100 units of RCS and 400 units of fuel, making it possible to move fuel (albeit slowly depending on the size of things).

C4N Rover One (right click -> save link as)

Hard to put on the mun (but not impossible, I did it, and I'm not half as good as you) due to it's rear center of mass, but once landed you'll get a versatile, fast and easy to ride rover, with 3 docking ports (fly, land, park), plenty of place to add everything you need (robotarm, kethan detetector...), carry a lot of things thanks to its pick-up design. You can drive it manned or unmanned. 100% stock.

Name: The ATV Spida

My Name: bman2232

Weight: 6.48 Mass Units

Part Count: 78

Description:The ATV Spida is a versatile rover to perform your daily Mun needs. The rover is probe-powered using the OKTO2, but can be manned by 1 person. The ATV Spida has 8 wheels, and an antenna with a communotron 88 on the back (with a communotron 16 inside). it has enough RTG's to power its wheels and lights. it also comes with ASAS, SAS and some sensors. due to the placing of the wheels, the Spida is un-flippable when turning (i have done some vigorous testing). i will include 2 versions: 1 WITH docking capability and 1 WITHOUT docking capability. The second one weighs 6.83 mass units and has 81 parts.

Some Pics:

Ntech. Nomad Mk. II - rover and rover refueling station

3Ew32gA.jpg

Mass 32.06 Tons

comes a rover docked on a mobile refueling station, when stopped recommend to extend the legs with G on the refueling station. watch out with the rover, on tight turn and attempted drift it tends to roll over into death, rover tested at 1G but i think it can work on the Mun too, landing system tested and functional.

Utility Name: SmellTek UV (Utility Vehicle) Mk2

Screenshot: http://imgur.com/a/ikJkx (Album)

Total Mass: Assuming it is atomic mass units, it is 5. (~9 Metric Tonnes)

.UTILITY File: http://www./?h35nkydzyj7zvkd

Extra notes: The rover can be powered by man or probe. It has a probe body on the very front, so you can power it unmanned. The UV includes 2 Rockomax 24-77 radial mount engines to propel yourself forward or backwards. I have tried to match the centre of thrust and centre of lift the best I could. Unfortunately It can't really land by itself. You would need to build a sky crane or something like that. The batteries, lights, and wheels are powered by 4 Thermoelectric generators and one small solar panel. I lifted up the vehicle so that it has great suspension and can reach higher up. It's not incredibly high, but it is high enough to be stable. As you probably know don't go over 60 m/s or the tires will explode into an non-repairable (But actually repairable) mess.

Design advice for Ember's submission, those two headlights look a little too close to the ground. If you hit a significant bump they could get sheared off. Placing them just above the braking engines instead of just below might be a better idea.

yea probably a good idea, guess I'm use to building rovers with a higher clearance

can we have a copy of the saved game so we can test rover designs on the stranded lander at the mun? also if i may be allowed is there any time limit for the craft submissions? i believe you should put a limit for each episode eg 1-2 weeks so we can have time to think and test our designs

]The Karrier Probe Tow mk1

(Designed for towing probes that have lost solar power)

It has a flat bed, with some guard rails to keep probes from rolling off, and you having to catch it again, as well as a docking port. There are 2 solar panels, for giving the probes some more power.

NOTICE

The wheels may be easy to pop, and come off, land with care.

The back two engines may require fuel lines to make sure they can transfer fuel.

The craft is pointing down, because it's almost impossible to make it point up.

I had a very very poor picture of it, but it needed a link, so I can't upload it. But nonetheless, here is the craft

Name: The KerboLauncher

Screenshots: http://i.imgur.com/Rv7Uvzg.jpg | http://i.imgur.com/ihgxUz9.jpg | http://i.imgur.com/DjS87i7.jpg | http://i.imgur.com/vysJ4Vw.jpg

Mass: About 20 (I counted 19.3 but that was at 3am so I might have messed up a little bit)

Parts 62

What is the Kerbolauncher? The Kerbolauncher is our newest design to send kerbals into space(or close to it), the less gravity and atmosphere there is the highrer(ha, get it Harv? Highrer, y u so silly) your kerbal will fly!

The KerboLauncher is equipped with 1x LV-T30 engine as the actual kerbal launcher, 2x Rockomax Mark 55 engines that could potentially flip/destroy whatever you need to flip/destroy!

There is 540 units of Liquidfuel to make sure these engines work for quite a while, and also 180 units of MonoPropellant.

A dockingport that should fit onto your average Mun hangar.

To send your kerbals into space using the Kerbolauncher simply extend the ladders and climb up the the LV-T30 and launch that poor guy far into the abyss.

Action groups: 1. Toggle LV-30.

2. Toggle Rockomax Mark 55.(Will fire both engines)

3. Toggle Landinglegs. (Make sure you do this before firing your LV-30 at full power, or you might get a flat tire)

4. Toggle all ladders.

Center of gravity finetuned, it's right at the modular girder segment for easy space travel transfer.

Craft DL: http://www./?you9sfay5oq2fyk (First time I ever uploaded anything, hope I did it properly)

I'm usually playing with several mods but I believe I used only vanilla parts for this craft. If there are any errors, please let me know :)

Edit: The Rockomax Mark 55 Engines managed to flip a scycrane I've built from looking at your last video, not all away around but enough to let the kerbals out, also this was done on Kerbin so it should work even smoother on the Mun. In your last video I noticed you couldn't really get the rover to dock on your hangar, you could try using physics warp, sometimes that will help.

I made this Rover, It only one problem that I notice and that is that It have a landing gear that needs to be extended for it to move (it can be used to flip the skycrane).

It have about 40 parts+ about 6 parts whit a cockpit kerbals so you don't need to build a tower to get a kerbal in :D

It has a solar panel and 4 ant engine that probably will make it fly (not tested it on the mun) and 8 RCS and a RCS tank for them, it also got 2 smal liquid tank.

This is my first upload and I love your chanel!!

The link is here http://www./?13ujgxyz7949x82 Hope u like it, can anyone else fly it to the mun and test it? Im quite a noob of getting things out of kerbal.

Utility Name: 5donuts' Rescue Rover

Additional Notes: Splits into two rovers each with a docking port; Has a top speed of 21m/s with the rover wheels (Kerbin), and 40+ m/s with the rockets (Kerbin). Can ascend/descend steep slopes, just go slowly and try to turn slightly while "mounting" and "dismounting" the slope, to avoid knocking off one of the rockets. Has two docking ports (one per individual rover). Can carry two Kerbals, comes empty.

Name of the Utility: Lobster Truck

Efficacy proved on Kerbin (rather extreme efficacy):

T9K2AEs.jpg

.CRAFT: http://www./download.php?zbl5ghl13hg40i4

Total Mass: 17.235

Number of Parts: 94

Creator: Cornivius

Description:

The landing gear can be used to go through terrain that would otherwise bump into the lower part of the truck, like going off the run-way. It can also be used to give a more precise angle to the frontal landing legs. The truck comes fully equiped with ASAS, lights, radio-thermal generators, a standard height docking port on the back side and RCS fuel and thrusters (the last ones were added after the screenshot). It also has its own rockets and fuel so a sky crane is not needed. The lower attachment point is aligned with the center of mass for easier mounting on a rocket. Apart from flipping things over, it can also be used to transport fuel and/or kerbals. The fuel usage during landing is minimal so even before refueling the truck can use its rockets to jump hundreds of kilometers across the munar surface, it can even get itself back into orbit (successfully tested), that way you can avoid driving long and tedious distances. I hope its useful.

Controls:

1. Toggles Frontal Landing Gear

2. Toggles Posterior Landing Gear

3. Toggles Landing legs
