'Been using your skybox for a long while in my "cinematic KSP instance" and it's still my favorite. You're work with Nassault is wonderful! Someone recently shared the link to this thread with me so I decided I'd show a bit of support for some of the coolest artwork. It has been in large part the inspiration for my getting into video editing and hopefully soon 3d modeling. I finished my first real attempt at a short story in KSP I made as a christmas card for my little brother.

You're truly one of my best creative inspirations! =)

For some reason the Kickstarter's 'follow along' button isn't working for me. So I'm posting in this thread as a reminder. Otherwise, just saying thanks for the desktop wallpapers! :D

Apologies all for being absent from this thread for so long, ended up forgetting about it with my recent work load.

This stuff will always be impressive... ;)

I know you're no longer in the business of rendering but regardless I tbough you would enjoy looking at this guy when you next see this message. Later Rareden. ;)

Volta - custom textured aircraft

That is one exceptionally designed craft you have there.

Rareden! You're alive!

Any chance you'll start doing renders again?

Absolutely. Damn. Jawdropping.

I am more than sure it's been asked before, but 1000 pages are too much... Any ways you could release one of those heightmaps so that we can make them into real planets with Kopernicus?

Which heightmaps.

Hey there Rareden, welcome back!

I've been wondering how you made the picture (or several, it's hard to remember with all your great work) with the KSC in it. Did you model them? Enhance a screenshot? Download them from somewhere? Do it in Unity? Rip them?

Ripped and rendered

Doesn't the scene come out extremely distorted when it's ripped?

No, it simply exports all models and textures being rendered onscreen. All the parts of the craft you have end up at grid 0 when you import so you have to reassemble your craft in the 3d program.

Well now we have the handy KSPBlender plugin for craft importing. Still want a KSC, though. Could do some great renders.

You've been manually assembling all the craft you've rendered? :0.0:

Like Starwhip said, now we have a plugin that imports craft. (Albeit not perfectly, sometimes scaling is messed up and parts are different scales)

indeed, back when i was making images the plugin didn't exist, plus i don't use blender.

Do you mind telling us what you do use? Blender certainly has limits. (I'm looking at you, fireflies >.> )

I wanted to say this seeing as it's relevant now that you're back. This picture is first place in my favorites list:

I'd be using it as my work station background if it worked for dual 1920x1200 monitors :P. There's a special place in my heart for silhouettes. It leaves the viewer to interpret what's in the foreground. :)

indeed, was rather funny when i first made that and put it on reddit, i received rather a lot of flak for it because quite a few people thought it was just a photo of a rocket launch and not a render or anything to do with ksp.
