Station design. Does it matter?

Recommended Posts

Personally, I find stations indispensable, mostly because I have the Kethane pack. When .20 rolls out, I think they will become absolutely necessary. Currently they are useful as refueling stations no matter how you play.

I'm with sal_vager; it really depends on what you want to do with it. Me, I don't see a need for space stations at the moment, but that's because I design modular ships that assemble in orbit that make it up there almost fully fueled (they're sans the RCS fuel it takes to successfully rendezvous and dock and the booster of course). I'd probably use them if I had a definite purpose for them.

Like capi3101, I've only lofted two stations just to see if I could do it. The first was a simple Salyut style, then a pretty intricate Skylab replica. Skylab is the only one still in orbit, mainly for show. I have no intent of putting up anything "permanent" until the 1.0 release.
