How to show other spacecrafts in camera view while in rendevouz

I am 1500m away from my target, and no matter what I do I cannot see it in camera mode.

I have seen countless videos of people doing orbital rendevouzes and they cann see a marker in camera mode with the distance on it.

How do you activate this marker?

I have already tag the other craft as my target, both of them are in the same orbit, just a few meters away but it feels like Im trying to dock to nothing!

Those markers can be turned on and off with the F4 key. Try hitting that.
