Gentlemen BEHOLD

I bring you the Radially attached jetengine, inspired by the B-52s dual engine pod setup.

Since C7studios is the current leading manufacturer of spaceplane parts the engines have been carefully tuned to match the performance of the C7 packs C7AX-301 engine. They can be applied directly to fuselage or mounted under wings (or on top if you are a silly).

Textures are terribad, therefore the texture map thing included. A less sucky texture would be greatly appreciated, keep in mind that the UV-map might be as bad as the texture.

Radially attached jetengine revisions:

1.3 - Thrust vector updated

1.2 - Reduced fuelcomsumption to match thrust reduction.

1.1 - Reduced thrust and heatproduction, 20% reduction in thrust and heatproduction.

1.0 - Release.

Nice. I\'ve been meaning to get to doing some engines like this. The only reason I have the heat so high on those engines is because they weren\'t meant to be stuck too close together. I wanted a sort of 'afterburner' style overheating scheme. Where if you jammed the thrust too high it would overheat. A lot of jets have an overthrust or afterburning capability. They just can\'t use it much due to stress and heat on the engines.

Now I\'m going to have to make some new engines... hehe.

I just threw it into the original part folder. Which may or may not have something to do with the fact that these engines only fire backwards for me, regardless of which part I use or where and how I place it, effectively crashing my plane on the launch pad.

The thing in the video was just the technology demonstrator, here is a work in progress pic of the final thing :

And yes, it will still be able to deploy cargo through its rear end.

I haven\'t thought about it, it\'s still a long way away from being ready for textures. And I\'m terrible at making textures so if someone with some 2d skills is interested I\'d love to have some help with the texturing when it comes to that.
