  1. 1. Can you land on the Mun and Return successfully?

    • Yes. I will post a picture as proof.
    • No. I am still learning!

Still learning orbit mechanics, but getting good at creating near perfect circular orbits, plan to estabilish a geostationaire satellite before sending something to the Mun (unmanned probe initially). Planning to wait to land somewhere untill we got the option to plant flags. Still got plenty to do before that.

Edit: seems I'm the first person voting that hasn't reached the Mun yet and returned.

I wouldn't worry about it :)

I've landed on the Mun and returned to Kerbin twice, i have landed on the Mun and not been able to return...thrice!

But i have NEVER done a single Mun landing including a return to Kerbin that didn't involve me pressing F5 before attempting to land, it's always taken two or more attempts as i invariably end up with my rocket on it's side.

I did indeed land perfectly once but it was on an occasion where i didn't have enough fuel to return, so it doesn't count as a success.

Long story short, i've never truly and legitimately landed on the Mun and returned home in one single go.

Well... I wasn't landing on the Mun for quite a time but, there we go:

After docking came out this was mine favorite configuration for 3 man crew (unmanned transfer stage):

So I do : I can't have one mission like this without quicksaving. Sometimes the save is not use, but, well, most of the times, it is usefull !

Given the likelihood of the game crashing I quick save after every major event, it's much less frustrating than having to do it all over again... Realistic? No, but then again we are playing a game in which we stick little green things on top of rockets and blast them into oblivion :D

Here is my Mun landing though, I don't usually bring them home but this time I did :D

I have quite many times, both return, and non-return for bases and vehicles.

But this would be the rocket I use most, because it is the first (and only) vessel where I calculated the Delta V manually, and it has proven very reliable for its job, which is rescuing stranded kerbals on the Mun.

Certainly not an uncommon task....

These are from a few different times I've used it.

Am I the only person who's never used quicksave, and has never had the game crash on them?
