So I was just landing another component of my Mun base when I passed over the mun arch.

I literally jumped out of my chair and killed mechjeb then tried to kill as much velocity as possible.

I landed it about 5 k away from the arch.

So I pulled out the translatron window and gradually moved it closer to the arch then set it down.

That's okay, the base didn't need that component. Right?

......Right?

No, it was just supposed to be a docking station and habitat but I've since abandoned my old base and I'm starting a new one there!

0 mass and 0 drag, so symmetry is not needed except for aesthetic purposes.

That said, it also means there should be no penalty for having as many as you like.

Do you really want to see an asymmetrical rocket? To me, I literally end the mission and make it symmetrical if I see it.

I think I can do better than that.

Ok, I cheated a little bit. I was curious, so I googled and got the coordinates.

Typed them into mechjeb and this is what happened....

As I approached it, I constantly murmured:

Will we land on that thing? No... looks like we will... this will certainly not work... we will slide off. Oh.... look at that!

EDIT: Yes, I cheated. I promise not to do it again... well... If it can be avoided. This is not supposed to be an achievement of mine. Just fun...

That was supposed to be the start of my moonbase. Well.... now it stays right where it is.

I chose the location of my Mun base because it was halfway between one of those, a kethane deposit, and Kerbin was in the centre of the sky.

I haven't actually been to it yet. I don't count the time the scout-o-pod crashed into it and I quickloaded. That was a simulation.

Actually, I moved the base by crane, and left the guys in the scout-o-pod behind. I should go fix that. Or, drive to the arch with the ground shuttle....

Also, Tokay Gris, why not make the base on the arch!

On my manned mission "Armstrong VI" in tandem with a earlier rover mission "Armstrong V", I spotted the same arch you found in high orbit, and proceeded to make plans for a pinpoint landing near it, Armstrong VII was a failure, the rocket disintegrated even before reaching Kerbin orbit, so I proceeded to Armstrong VIII, mission was a success. :sticktongue:
