Meticulous Planning or Wing it?

For the most part I wing it, but I have not done any major missions yet, just constructing my space station right now. I do have to say my space station design is a little over the top maybe, since some ports require me to, like, parallel park XD. After my Kerbin station is done, I am going to start testing out some probes.

So I guess, you could say I do basic planning. The rest of it is pretty much winging it.
