What to do when EVAing on the surface

We've all landed on planets and moons with manned capsules, and I'm sure the majority of us have gone EVA, only to get back in and fly away. Does this feel a bit anti-climactic to anyone else? Sure I could bring a rover and drive it around, but where would I go? Any thoughts on this?

Usually people try and go to anomalies- the "Moholes", the Munar Arch, the Dunan Face, etc.

0.20 will have flag planting, if that's your cup of tea.

Otherwise, you really can just fool around for a bit and then leave, as you said.

Mobbing other kerbals

Going for an swim on Eve, nice and warm weather and you don't notice the gravity in water

While you are in the neighborhood, Gilly is a nice playground

Bring a toy to the playground

Try not to fall down holes

Try to get back to lander on Dress, (I had to fly it down to the bottom)

Going places few has gone before, facing great dangers.

Or doing the regular tourist stuff.

Meeting the locals

Bathing

And looking at old monuments.

Most of my Kerbals causalities is from testing ladders on the launchpad. Second is rovers. they are extremely dangerous
