Just bought the game last night. I am honestly surprised that no one has made something like this before (that I know of, anyway).

Is there a way to get the map to display more data? Specifically, orbital eccentricity and inclination, and a ship's orientation in all three axes. Having to flip back and forth between the map and the camera to make sure I'm not about to bugger my orbit is a bit of a pain.

Welcome to the community

I'd say go for a mod called mechjeb link here:http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/showthread.php/12384-PLUGIN-PART-0-19-Anatid-Robotics-MuMech-MechJeb-Autopilot-v2-0-6

If you get 2.0.7 you can create custom windows to display all sorts of different information. This mod also has auto pilot, which can do a large part of the game for you. I would avoid that part of it though, until you learn the basics at least.

Enjoy the game.

Welcome to the forums! :)

I know that one trick to finding your inclination (while in Kerbin orbit) is to set the Mun as your target. Since the Mun's orbit is coplanar with Kerbin's equator, the relative inclination at the ascending and descending nodes should also tell you your inclination to Kerbin.

Also, you might want to check out the Drawing Board if you haven't already. It's got all sorts of useful information, including tutorials, graphs, charts, and all sorts of other things that might come in handy while you're designing and building your rockets.

Happy landings!

I keep getting flutter in my controls when using auto-ascent.

It seems the control gain is too high. Is there a way to correct this that won't cripple my ability to control my ship?

Additionally, it seems the auto-throttle runs full throttle all the time. This can really decrease the fuel efficiency of your craft. Is there a way to make a target ascent speed for the initial ascent?
