What did you do in KSP1 today?

Update: Sent an orbiter that circularized just above the planet's orbit, than used ion engines to match inclination. I then set up an encounter, and had a slow enough rendezvous that I was able to complete the capture burn before leaving the SOI. The orbiter doesn't have any radiators after jettisoning ion stage though, so it's days are numbered...

does anyone know if i can get Volumetric clouds for free anywhere? i really want it but i can't pay online for anything.

Assuming you aren't only talking about Blackrack's project, Spectra looks interesting.  I haven't tried it though.

I too am tempted by the the Blackrack project though.  Thinking I may sign up to his patreon for a time just to try it out as from what I've seen it's fantastic.

I hope you'll find a way to pay, it's a relatively small amount considering how good the mod is.

I use Spectra Scatterer alongside AVP - absolutely beautiful. Would do without AVP but don't know if Spectra has dust clouds, The highlight over AVP is that Duna's atmo is actually Mars-like, and Jool does this -

(the spectra scatterer config is on ckan and runs separately to spectra, though you need to uninstall the base scatterer config to get it to work).

In the last few days, I spent my time setting up a new install with mods for a 2.5x scale career playthrough, with OPM. Unfortunately, most KSC mods don't work with 2.5x, so I had to make my own! If anyone wants me to make a mod out of this please tell me. The new KSC includes 5 new rocket pads and two landing zones, a harbour, a helipad, 2 new runways including one that is 4.8km long and a set of hangars and terminals.

I also had to mess with my visual mods, and I managed to combine AVP and Spectra to make my game look quite good.

like the look of the space centre - what's the top down view like?

I don't know how to upload images to posts, sorry. Plus, the planet is unfinished and looks really bad.

Most of us here use imgur.com. You can make a free account and upload the pictures there. After you published the post on imgur, go to "Images" in top right menu where your account name is, click on the image you want,  copy the content of the "BBCode" line and just paste it into your post.

And we are interested in seeing a work in progress, even if it is not polished yet.

Last couple days, the seismic impact probe arrived at Duna from Kerbin. For CB without atmospheres it's easy to do a high energy impact with a small, fast probe like this one that will hit Bop later: P3rbryp.png

Duna's atmosphere is only 4% of Kerbin's. How hard can it be?

Ore transferred to the probe and lander diverted to orbit.

Science: zero. :sob:

It got to 8km altitude, same as the mountain peaks there. Problem was the storage can was at the front. Should have been at the rear with bigger fins and maybe RCS too.

I fully assembled the LSS (Lunar Service Station) by repurposing the transfer stage LH2OX tank that carried the habitation module (this was assembled in 2 launches, one for the core module, which was an RGU as well as a truss that adapted for further construction and a solar array). I then sent a lander that was only descent capable to the station as well as a lander with no payload capacity and only fuel tanks. The descent lander included a small mining refinery, and the reusable lander will be able to gather fuel from it using KAS attachments provided by crew (with yet another lander). This system will allow transfer stages with inadequate fuel to dock with the station and make the journey to other bodies.

Furthermore, to accompany the fuel station, I sent down the first surface base modules. Namely a core module as well as a pair of "arm" modules for assembly via a crane that will be arriving later. The surface crew can safely live in the core module indefinitely assuming they are provided with food and water (this is where the arms come in, they have greenhouses and logistics.), as the base is stationed at the south pole with a solar array that can extend above the local terrain unless eclipsed by the earth, in which case there are backup RTGs. I plan on expanding both the mining station as well as adding a nuclear power station in the near future.
