Hello guys,

I have only been playing KSP for about 3 weeks now and it is definetly the best 15$ dollars I have spend in a LONG time. I have been having great fun from the start.

I have a background as a private pilot (I learned to pilot a plane at 15yo even before I got my drivers liscences) and I have a bachelor in Physics Eng. (with a useless master but I disgress). Just wanted to point this out because I feel like this game was made for me, with all the true liberty to let your imagination run wild (I have been playing way to much Dwarf fortress anyways) and just a touch of reality so there can be PHYSICS and SCIENCE! in there plus the added flight simulator part (well almost... the aerodynamics dont seem right at times) its just SO great I cant seem to express it properly.

If my english is poor I apologise, my native language is french and I am from Québec.

Just so this is not a complete empty post, here a is picture of my first SSTO plane just reaching orbit.

Bienvenue sur les forums KSP! Nice Screenshots by the way and I agree with Promii, the mod he listed will give aircraft and rockets a better aerodynamics model to work with. Hope you keep on enjoying the game and good luck from another newbie.

Some things are easier with Ferram and some are harder. The standard short and fat asparagus-staged rockets that work so well in stock KSP tend to work less well with Ferram, as in real life.

Yeah that's the thing with Ferram: Some rockets will work ten times better, but as soon as you start building on the side, which is something normal in KSP because building up doesn't work well (structural problems, height limitation) you start getting a lot of troubles getting to orbit. Nose cones actually work with the mod, but in overall it can be a lot harder. Rockets from a single central structure, however, will go through the air like an arrow. It's just really different ^^

Yé pour la communauté Québécoise de KSP! I should really make a Québec's flag for my space program.

Faits en un avec la face a Marois dessus, jva le mettre sur le launchpad, mettre le plus gros moteur que je trouve au dessus pi *FOOOOSSSSHH*

Welcome to the forums! :)

If you ever find yourself in a particularly tricky situation, or if you just want to get some tips to tweak your designs and hone your skills to get more out of your rockets than you're already getting, take a look at the Drawing Board (link in my sig) for some resources you can use. You can also ask questions in the How To forum, or in the International section if you think you'd understand the answers better in your native French.

Happy landings!
