How to dock Multiple ports at once

Recommended Posts

im trying to dock to ports that are right next to each other at the same time. is this even possible? i seem to recall people in the past using a tri-dock to make docking points more stable, im using 2 large docking clamps side by side.

i can line it up and get one port to dock but the second one wont do it. any suggestions?

It is theoretically possible, but the alignment must be perfect. So either you are docking roughly, or you got the docking ports not aligned correctly on the VAB. It's unfortunately probably the latter, which means back to the drawing board. The best way to go about it is to save a "multi-clamp template" with subassembly loader (or starting each craft from the same clamp file).

Rune. It happens to all of us.

so i did use Sub-assembly to break the ship apart. it should fit 100% Both sides are built on the same piece, so the spacing must be fine. i guess if it really wont do it ill just Hyper-edit the ship pre-docked into orbit and end that one. seeing as i launched both ships and pretty much docked the ship in space i wont feel too bad about doing that.

I used to have this problem a lot. Fortunately I found a little sneaky way to fix it. It does involve a little cheating in some people's eyes, because it involves editing your save, but it saves you spending hours and hours trying to line up your docking ports exactly.

This video explains it best:
