CHALLENGE - Heart of Gold

I'm interested to see if it's possible to build something similar to the Heart of Gold, a ship from the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy books.

If you aren't familiar with it, here is a picture:

If I remember correctly the book describes it as shaped like a tennis shoe, but I suppose either design works.

Here are some guidelines for the challenge, should you choose to accept it -

1- The ship does not need to be capable of reaching orbit, because something like that would be very, very difficult.

2- The ship must look somewhat similar to the one pictured above or the one described in the book.

BONUS CHALLENGE- Incorporate the Infinite Improbability Drive into the vessel's design.
