[DEAL WITH IT] I just accidentally 0.0km INTERESCT

Yep, accidentally.

I was going for a direct ascent and as I adjusted my inclination and saw this.

Keep in mind that I am flying on a VERY light craft, so it might have had something to do with it:

Also, I find myself lucky in these things - makes me wonder how will the intersection look like if I don't burn anywhere xD

PS: My Ascending/Descending nodes are equal to "NuN"

Update: As I made my orbit around the Mun, the intersect turned out to be only a few inches away from the orbiter. Talk about sniping. Boy, was that worth it. This time however, I will try to dock with it normally :P

0.0km intersects aren't too difficult to achieve. Unless this was unintentional, in which case that would be very impressive.

Persicely my thoughts! It seems to be much easier with lighter craft thus the higher your chance of getting it (wait whaaa).

I intended to dock with the orbiter, but I didn't expect to get it right away like THIS :D

Lighter ships can maneuver faster and can be controlled easier (in most cases). However, if you have the same amount of RCS thrusters on a small ship as a large ship, the larger ship will have slower changes because it's heavier. This means you can have more control over things like apoapsis and periapsis. (Which is why I tend to make the first piece of my station really big/have very few rcs thrusters. Because you can get way more accurate and precise orbits, it just takes a bit longer.)

The times i've gotten 0.0km intercepts has taught me to make sure I never get 0.0km intercepts.. Failure to decelerate in time leads to the loss of both craft generally.

Yea I typically stop at about 50 meters to be safe, depending on the size of the ship. One time I did a really aggressive intercept burn, misjudged my deceleration timing, and plowed through the target's solar panels.

The intercept point is where you and the target orbit intercept, not necessarily the closest point, also the burn to match orbits might change this. Once I passed an space station within meters and ended up on the other side during the 30m/s adjustment burn. I want to do the burn exactly at the intercept to get the orbit similar.

Final approach is much safer as you have visual and speed is lower.
