Attach both ends of a structure on 2 fuselages.

Recommended Posts

Hellooo Kerbonauts! I'm build my rocket (a weird designed lifter) but i have a little problem: there is a way to attach a structure in the middle of two bodies so both ends are in contact?

Let me make a better example: lets says I have two fuselages (or tanks) not in contact but some meters apart each other, then I want to attach a solid M-Beam 200 that connect both fuselages. Seems is not possible as just one end is really in contact, the other is just suspended.

I cant build like fuselage<structure<fuselage because the 2nd fuselage comes from another attachment (so i'll have the same problem elsewere), it must be fuselage<structure>fuselage.

(sorry for my english  )

P.S. I know I can set structure cable everywere but i need something more solid to place something else.

This isn't possible, because internally KSP uses a tree structure where each part is connected to a single parent. What you are trying to do is to attach a child part to 2 parents, which is not possible.

You can use struts to kind of hold things together as if they were connected, but they can't really be.

best solution is docking ports. otherwise everything everyone else has said above is true.

EG.

P<>BRIDGE<>P

(where < and > are docking ports. P is your outside parts and bridge is obvious)

Place in two sections

P<>BRIDGE< and >P seperate but such that the ports are touching. upon loadup the ports will join and you have a connection at each end!
