Should a rescue mission be sent?

  1. 1. Should a rescue mission be sent?

Today, Fredsey Kerman became the first Kerbal to step foot on another planet, taking the first steps on Duna. The observant may notice that the "lander" has no engines, legs or fuel. This was intentional. The mission was designed basically so that we could say, "Yeah. We were there." On the subject of a rescue mission at some point, a vote has been set up.

In the meantime, the plaque reads:

Interview with CEO of KASA

Rep: ...A very great accomplishment indeed! Now tell us, when will Fredsey Kerman return home?

CEO: Wha-...Oh, yes! Uhh...well you see...erm...*ahem* He has volunteered to be the first Kerbal to be at a long-term base on Duna! He will remain there forever as a testament to our accomplishment and most definitely not our lack of foresight.

True story.

"Permanent base"... hmm...

One Hour Later...

The Jedi Master: We will be keeping them on Duna for now. We may send a rescue mission at some point, but in the meantime, the Curiosity 3 will be the first module of a Duna base.

Fredsey: Hey! Come on, at least send a rover! Or a buggy! Or something...

TJM: We're working on it!... Uh, yes, a Duna exploration buggy is in the works...
