Yeah I saw that as well.. Eve's certainly no walk in the park for any Kerbonauts..

Well compared to the costs of the parts that is fairly good. I've seen peoples rockets to Eve and back that are under 250k.

I assume you mean without the landing and returning of Kerbonauts of course ...

aside from the one spaceship that (ab-)used the elasticity of girders and struts for return to Eves Orbit (which surely wouldn´t be allowed in Dans homework)

I cannot imagine a mission for < 250k that includes a manned landing on Eve

Fantastic use for Fun and Education. We only got to launch our rockets twice when I was in AP Physics, and had to build them from kits so we never had to figure out what makes one rocket fly better than another. This is so much better from a "bang for buck" perspective.
