How to get camera view off of center of mass

I have a low-flying probe orbiting the Sun on KSP (cool), and I want to get my camera view off of the center of mass so I can take some screenshots.

If using a PC, hold down the mouse wheel while panning to the side. The camera will still rotate around the COM, but it won't be pointed directly at it.

Middle mouse button does something like that. But if you want to take screenshots one tip is to zoom all the way out so you no longer can see the probe, if you don't want it to be in the way.

You can also kerbcam to move the camera any where you would like in the game, even away from the ship

I heavily agree. When you have a thousand instruments on your probe you're trying to activate but when you zoom in it goes to the center if the rocket, not the actual probe.
