quietsamurai98
Mods, please lock this thread. I am doing major revisions, and I'll post the fixed version when its ready.Non-Mods: Please ignore this challenge. It is near impossible. If you do complete it, you must be Jebediah Kerman himself, playing on a computer powered by HAL.Laythe is the twin sister of Kerbin, and the head of the Kerbal Space Program has decided that it should be colonized like its big sister. He has left a list of requirements that the colony must meet. His list goes as follows:A Command Central. It will carry the 3 Mission Leaders, who will pilot the ship during the majority of the flight.A Kerbal Housing Facility. It will carry at minimum 20 colonists and only 1 pilot.A Research Facility. It will have all 4 sensors, 4 scientists, and one pilot.Fuel Storage Facility. It will bring at least 10000 liquid fuel, and 1400 mono propellant, and will be driven by 1 driver.A Land Rover. It must be able to go at least 12 m/s. It will have one pilot.[Optional] A Fuel Transport Vehicle, which has 1 driver and can carry 3520 fuel and 100 mono propellant at minimum.[Optional] An Aquatic Surface Rover (a boat). Laythe is mostly covered in ocean, so we should have a boa- I mean an Aquatic Surface Rover. It must go at least 10 m/s, and have 1 captain. In total, there will be at least 4 buildings, 2 vehicles, and 32 Kerbals. Due to the KSP's... err... death toll, the government has threatened to shut us down if anyone else dies due to an error in math, physics, morality, judgement, etc. Finally, the only mod allowed is MechJeb. That means that everything is built with stock parts and the MechJeb module.Good luck!Scoring System:2.5 points per extra colonist in Housing Facility0.1 points per 100 extra fuel brought in Fuel Storage Facility1 point per extra m/s for the Land Rover's max speed5 points for a Fuel Transport Vehicle10 points for a Boat25 points for landing everything (excluding the Aquatic Surface Rover) on the same island Edited June 5, 2013 by quietsamurai98 Please lock this. quietsamurai98
all of that in one ship? try it your self first?Sorry, I should have been clear. There will be about seven launches, which dock together to form one ship, then stay as a single ship untill Laythe orbit, where they will undock, decend, and land one by one. aven17
[*]Fuel Storage Facility. It will bring at least 100000 liquid fuel, and 3000 mono propellant.100,000 fuel? As in 34 stock orange tanks? As in you are smoking something and should really read the rules on challenges?

1096bimu
Why don't you try this out yourself first? all these ships docked together will require like a 500 tone propulsion stage.
Boffinbox
here's a (similar) ship i used to get to laythe once, replace the nuclear engines with lv-909s and you have what the configuration was.see how big that is for one ship? it only just got there and backgenuinely, try your challenge first. even if it is doable, try coping with the lag of seven docked ships which are all also landers. 1096bimu
a 20 tone payload Laythe return mission, with a 200 tone propulsion stage made of 3 separate launches. This thing was so slow to accelerate i gave up the mission. Imagine doing this with 7 of these docked together. OP you try it first, thank you.
