No Way

After dozens of launches and complete fails for different reasons each and every time, there is NO way I'm paying $23 for this game!

Scott Manley clearly knows what he's doing, I follow his instructions to the letter and the demo simply flips out making it impossible to even get into orbit.

What exactly is happening when you launch? Are your rocket designs simply failing or are is there an actual bug at play here? If you need some extra help reaching orbit, you can look in the support forum as their are bountiful tutorials on ship building, flight techniques, etc.

welcome to the forums, I remember my first time trying to make orbit, it took several tries but once i got it right it became a lot easier. another hint, if your rocket isn't quite making it to orbit try to reduce the weight not add more fuel, that really helped me.:)

Welcome to the forums! :)

Since you're new to the game and seem to be having a bit of trouble, I'd highly recommend that you take a look at some of the tutorials in the Drawing Board (link in my sig), some of which are written specifically with new players in mind.

Beyond that, what seems, specifically, to be the problem? What is your typical piloting procedure? Are you having difficulty controlling them at a certain point in the flight? Is the rocket actually disassembling itself, or is it simply running out of fuel before it gets high enough to achieve orbit? Have you noticed any common trends in how your rockets perform during the flight? Are you comfortable with your ability to read the navball and use that to help you figure out what's going on? Do you think you could provide a few screenshots of your most (relatively) successful craft? It might be possible that the fixes are relatively simple.

But yes, Kerbal Space Program isn't exactly the sort of game you can expect to just pick up and play flawlessly right out of the box. Part of the challenge is learning what works and what doesn't, as well as how to make what works work consistently. Some of the concepts may even seem counterintuitive to how you'd expect them to work until you actually see them in action. That sort of game isn't for everyone, and I'm not trying to push it on you if it turns out it isn't for you, but maybe you should give it a few more tries after arming yourself with some knowledge on how the game (and rocketry in general) works.

you can always keep trying it on the demo before you commit your hard-earned cash on the full game, it's perfectly possible to achieve orbit with that.

failure is part of the game, you know - you're basically paving a trial and error through rocket science

kerbals will get hurt, there's no way around that - but don't feel discouraged, there are plenty more stupid brave astronauts to try to reach the final* frontier

*pun intended

Something eventually has to work out! when in doubt, keep adding boosters!

cheers!

It took me a hundred tries to get to the Mun, didnt gave up and now it finally happend.

I also learned from Scott Manley, he is awesome.

This game does need some fingertip accuracy to "point the right end into space", also proper rocket engineering is a must to get to where you want to go and back!

Best $23 ever spent on a game, it is so much fun i ditched Far Cry 3 and Grid 2 for this. :D
