ctrl.

Nope! Ctrl is for selecting multiple categories.

It is most certainly should be Shift, because selecting mods from n to 10+m is pretty useless and looks like a bug.

Anyway, have some more icons! I wish they were better, but for now it is better than nothing.

Created my own labels before I realized people were posting theirs.

Just gonna post the NASA logo I created because it's somewhat different than others (Lighter blue + off icon is different).

Used InkScape to scale a Logo I got from the NASA home page to scale from 1080p to 37x26. I had the Vector program combine the shapes it'd created (when I scanned the .png from the website, it created multiple objects) combine all of the non-whitespace, so the blue and red portions, into one shape. This allowed me to export it with the NASA visible in the 'off' position.

Anyways preview:

Is there a way to keep my customized tags after adding new mods? I spent some time yesterday to resort various stock-alike mod parts into a "Squad-alike" category, and added KSPX today, which of course made PartCatalog rescan the library - so it recreated all the tags I deleted yesterday. Would there be a way just to tag newly installed parts and maybe highlight new or modified tags in some way?

Also, does "Warning: parts without database config" just mean part catalog cannot (obviously) auto-detect a custom part made by me, or is there a deeper problem with my amateurish creation?

EDIT: Would there be a way to transfer all sub-tags and parts from one parent tag to another and merge them in the process? That would make "housekeeping" much easier, especially since many parts already auto-sorted into deeply nested tag-hierarchies.

First up, great mod, really helps when you have a lot of packs installed.

Have you looked at searching for modpack labels in the mod folder so that modders could release labels with their packs?

Ideally it would look in both places so that you could provide labels with the mod but make it easy for modders to include their own.

This mod is really great! I totally love it! Without this, playing with more than 10 mods becomes impossible IMO!

Just a thing:

- Batteries could be organized into a section of Utility, don't you think?

- NovaPunch2's landing legs aren't recognizied as landing legs.

- I wanted to display all the parts that can hold crew (i.e. has crew capacity) but I don't know how to achieve this.

They're under Storage > ElectricCharge

- I wanted to display all the parts that can hold crew (i.e. has crew capacity) but I don't know how to achieve this.

I *THINK* Pods > Manned does this, but I'm not 100% sure off the top of my head. I seem to remember it showing me anthing with crew capacity not just command pods.

Something I would like is automatically adding a new "page" (or column, whatever) for a category. For example with all the mods I run, I can't see all the categories for "ALL > Storage" because there are too many options and the first half a dozen are off the top of the screen; so I have to manually add a "Storage 2" and move some of them there.

No way I can see it, too much stuff going on over here (see picture below).

And no, it doesn't show everything, on neither Pods, Pods-Manned or Pods-Misc. Things like the Laboratory are not displayed, neither some other stuff that can hold kerbals from the KSO mod, like the Habitat or it's own lab.

Great Mod. Thanks for all your work.

2.41 works well.

3.0 RC2 shows only the Subassemblies tab. In the GUI layout setup I can move the toolbar left, right and bottom but no config button position is visible.

Clicking on "config button position" buttons has no effect and then the GUI layout screen freezes.

Clean install of KSP 0.23.5

Windows 7 64-bit

1920x1080

EDIT: JSGME folder architecture error on my part. Fixed

I have the same problem as this chap, but i install mods manually, whereas JSGME is for some kind of mod management i believe?

I assume from the structure in the .zip file that i just extract everything to the "Plugins" folder, despite there also being another "PluginData" folder at the KSP root install dir?

Whenever i start the mod fresh (delete config.xml), i go to the VAB and get the menu asking how i want the toolbar laid out. But after a couple of clicks it just locks up and i can't do anything, can't see any parts, etc.

Any ideas on what i'm doing wrong? I'm using the RC2 posted on the previous page i believe.

Yeah; mine looks similar which is why I'd asked about "auto-paging" for large categories; in the interim I rename "storage" to "storage 1" and then make a "storage 2" and move all the lesser-used storage categories to the second one.

Sorry; I was kind of guessing based off memory.

Are you 100% sure that you're actually got a lockup and it isn't just auto-tagging all the parts? I have a decent computer but I run a TON of mods; so whenever I wipe my part catalog settings (usually because I've screwedthings up by manually changing tags) it lags hard for a minute or so while it re auto-tags everything. If you run even more mods than me; or have a slightly older computer I could see where it would hang long enough to think things had crashed. If it actually is crashing there *should* be a crash report inside your KSP folder (usually named as the Date + time of the crash I believe); that would be a good place to look to see if there's a conflicting mod or something.

Like others, I was finding the Storage category pretty useless due to all the KSPI clutter. I played around tonight and managed to split Storage into 3 sections based on the first letter of the resource name. Not a perfect solution, perhaps, but completely usable.

It took about a dozen lines of code, plus changing all the hard-coded instances of "Storage/" in 3 LUA files to "Storage1/", "Storage2/" or "Storage3/". BlackNecro, mind if I post a Dropbox link to my revised copies of those 3 files? I can send it to you to review privately first, if you like.

Because that would have taken more time.

Besides I wasn't thinking of this as a real fix. Just a temporary hack for KSPI users until BlackNecro decides how he wants to handle the issue.

It's been a while but I didn't see anyone else answer your question so here goes: everything goes in the gamedata folder. All mods are supposed to be installed that way - it should go gamedata/[name of mod]/[parts, plugins, etc]. It used to be the way you did it many versions ago but many mods won't work if you do it that way now.

Is there a way to configure this so that nothing is shown / selected on first entering the VAB / SPH? I'm using this in combination with Faark's Load On Demand mod, which only loads textures when they are called and I feel like this would be a good way to further increase memory savings. Basically, I want to enter the editor with nothing selected and then default back to nothing selected when I unselect any group.

It's my understanding that that mod will lead to textures only being loaded in the VAB/SPH for the currently open page. All that would really get loaded upon entering the VAB/SPH are the command modules, and after that you can just use Part Catalog. And a future version of that mod should disable loading of full textures in the parts menus all-together.

This is mostly true, the issue with LOD usually comes when entering the VAB or SPH for some reason. I think part of it is that the command pod section is one of the most texture heavy pages, which is why it might help to have it not load on first entry.

There were a few icons that I couldn't find but wished existed – so I made them. (Yet to do: Engineer maybe; more?)

Download as .zip OR

Right-click on each icon individually and 'Save Image As...'
